Lesson 11 Lily Learns about China!

2.了解一些介绍中西方文化的句式。
1.掌握一些与介绍文化有关的词汇：culture, festival, tourist, restaurant
2.激发学生兴趣,让学生了解更多中西方文化。
掌握以下重点句子：
①Recently, my class has learned about China.
②He showed us some pictures of different places in China.
③Now I want to travel to China.
④A few days ago, our teacher took us to a Chinese grocery store and a Chinese restaurant.
Step 1 Lead－in
Show the pictures to the students.Let them guess：
What do Chinese people do during Spring Festival？
What is the most important festival in western countries？
Let the students answer the questions in class.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the correct words you hear.
1.Lily has lived in Canada for________years.
2.Lily likes________Day best.
3.Lily thinks Chinese restaurant is very________.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3 Reading
Read the passage and decide if the following statements are true or false.
Lily’s favourite subject is social studies.
They have Children’s Day in Canada.
Lily wants to travel to China.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 4 Practice
Work in groups. Practice the text. Then present it in front of the class. When the students act, they can use their own words.
Read the text again and find more questions about this text.
S1：What does Lily learn in social studies？
S2：What does Lily want to be？
S3：What kind of food does Lily like to eat？
Step 5 Activities
Suppose you want to write a short passage about culture. You don’t know what to say. How can you do？Ask your classmates for advice.
Finish the task in groups. Then after a few minutes, let some students read their passage in front of the class.
Step 6 Come to “Let’s Do It！”
Read the passage and fill in the blanks of Exercise 1.Listen to the tape and finish Exercise 2 together.
Ask the students to finish off Exercise 3 by themselves.
Finish off “Project” in “Let’s Do It！”.
