By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
Read, understand and use the new words and phrases e.g. such...as, get together, too...to, face to face, stay in touch with.
To use the new phrases and to talk about family celebrations
Step1: Lead-in and warm up
Ask the Ss to look at the pictures
What is it about?
Who attends the family celebration?
How do they save the happy memories?
Step2: New Concept:
The Ss look at the pictures and learn the key phrases and expressions.
Ask students to listen the passage and
match the people with their main ideas.
Read the passage and answer 5 questions.
Step3: Extensive reading
Read one passage named A Family Celebration and answer the .questions
Step 4: Practice
It’s the Ss turn to talk about how to keep the memory.
Ask some pairs to show their conversations
Ask the Ss to write a birthday card for their family members. Show your love and thanks to them.
Suppose you are going to attend an important event. What would you do to keep the memory? Discuss it with your partner and write a short passage.
Listen and read the text.
