Lesson 42　The New Club

1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇：real, support, daily

2.能了解如何介绍自己喜欢的俱乐部。

3.能了解书信的正确写法。

1.掌握一些与介绍爱好和俱乐部有关的词汇：collection, wonderful, organize, club

2.运用所学知识介绍自己喜欢的俱乐部。

学习“v.+by doing sth.”结构。掌握以下重点句子：

①I showed my stamp collection to the class.

②Our teacher says that gardening is enjoyable and easy to learn.

③Everyone can take part in gardening.

④Jenny and I joined the club. So did most of our classmates!

Step 1　Lead－in

Lead in by discussing the following questions：

1.Why is it important to have hobbies？

2.Do good friends always have the same hobbies？

3.What kind of club would you like to join？

Discuss the questions in groups. After several minutes, some students come to the front to show their answers.

Step 2　Listening

Listen to the tape and answer the following questions：

1.What does Brian collect？

2.What is Jenny’s hobby？

3.What is Jenny’s new idea？

Finish the task in class orally.

Step 3　Reading

Read the text and answer the following questions：

1.What did Danny show us？

2.What does their teacher think of gardening？

3.What will Jenny and her friends have next year？

Finish the task in class orally.

Step 4　Activities

Read the text again and retell the passage in their own words.

Ask some students to speak in front of the class.

Step 5　Come to “Let’s Do It！”

Read the lesson again and finish off Exercise 1.

Listen to the tape and finish Exercise 2 together.

Finish off Exercise 3 by themselves.

Finish off Exercise 4 in “Let’s Do It！”.
