Lesson 47　I Made It!

1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇：fail, accept

2.了解一些有关改进学习方法的句式。

1.掌握一些与介绍学习中的问题和解决方法有关的词汇：wrong, mistake, fail, learn, hard

2.激发学生兴趣,让学生了解介绍自己学习中的问题和解决方法的句式。

掌握以下重点句子：

①Krista, his friend, noticed him looking sad.“What’s wrong, Peter？”asked Krista.

②But Krista was not going to let Peter give up.

③Each day, you will learn how to spell four of these words.

④He worked very hard, both by himself and with Krista.

Step 1　Lead－in

Show the pictures to the students.Let them guess：

1.What is the boy in the left picture doing？How can he do it well？

2.What is the man in the right picture studying？

Let the students answer the questions in class.

Step 2　Listening

Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the correct words you hear.

1.Peter________his English exam.

2.Peter accepted the________and studied hard at his English.

3.Peter’s spelling was________in his last paper.

Finish the task in class in oral.

Step 3　Reading

Read the passage and decide if the following statements are true or false.

Peter made a lot of grammar mistakes.

Krista gave Peter an English dictionary.

With the help of Krista, Peter did well at last.

Finish the task in class in oral.

Step 4　Practice

Work in groups. Practice the text. Then present it in front of the class. When the students act, they can use their own words.

Read the text again and find more questions about this text.

S1：Is Peter good at spelling？

S2：How soon will they have the final exam？

S3：What prize did Peter get at last？

Step 5　Activities

Suppose you want to write a short passage about your study problems. You don’t know what to say. How can you do？Ask your classmates for advice.Finish the task in groups. Then after a few minutes, let some students read their passage in front of the class.

Step 6　Come to “Let’s Do It！”

Read the lesson and tick the correct answers in Exercise 1.Finish off Exercise 2 together in class.
