Increased carbn dixide (CO2)in the air frm burning cal and il can have an effect n hw plants prduce xygen, while higher temperatures and changeable rainfall patterns can change their patterns f grwth.
“Predicting species' reactin t climate change is a majr challenge in eclgy,”said the researchers f several U.S. universities. They said plants had been the key bject f study because their reactin t climate change culd have an effect n fd chains and ecsystem services.
The study, published n the Nature website, uses the findings frm plant life cycle studies and experiments acrss fur cntinents and 1,634 species. It fund that sme experiments had underestimated(低估) the speed f flwering by 8.5 times and leafing by 4 times.
“Acrss all species, the experiments underpredicted the speed f the advance-fr bth leafing and flwering-that results frm temperature increases,” the study said.
The design f future experiments may need t be imprved t better predict hw plants will react t climate change, it said.
Plants are necessary fr life n the Earth. They are the base f the fd chain, using phtsynthesis (光合作用)t prduce sugar frm carbn dixide and water. They let ut xygen which is needed by nearly every rganism n the planet.
Scientists believe the wrld's average temperature has risen by abut 0.8℃ since 1900, and nearly 0.2℃ every ten years since 1979.
S far, effrts t cut emissins(排放)f planetwarming greenhuse gases are nt seen as enugh t prevent the Earth heating up beynd 2℃ this century-a pint scientists say will bring the danger f a changeable climate in which weather extremes are cmmn, leading t drught, flds, crp failures and rising sea levels.

2.We can learn frm the study published n the Nature website that________.
A.plants' flwering is 8.5 times faster than leafing

Mrever, the new grwing techniques are cntributing t acidic (酸性的) sil cnditins.
It is bvius that the way much cffee is grwn affects many aspects f life, frm the lcal envirnment t the glbal eclgy. But cnsumers d have a chice. A.recipe B.substitute
    C.requirement D.challenge
