    Each new schl year brings fresh reminders f what educatrs call the summer learning gap.Sme call it the summer learning setback.Put simply,it means the lnger kids are ut f schl,the mre they frget.The nly thing they might gain is weight.Recent studies shw that children gain weight mre quickly in the summer vacatin than when they are in schl.

    Last year,a study at Ohi State University reprted that year­rund students did nt learn any mre than ther students.Lead researcher Paul vn Hippel said “year­rund schls dn’t really slve the prblem f the summer learning setback.They simply spread it ut acrss the year”.
    Acrss the cuntry,the research shws that students frm pr families fall farther behind ver the summer vacatin than ther students.Experts say this can be prevented.They nte that many schls and lcal gvernments ffer the prgrams that can help.
