Teaching aims of this class

- Create plots and scenes and lead in

Show a table about David. Ask the students to talk about “How do you like David? Then the partner talk about it .Let the students answer the questions.

1 Presentation
Show some sentences on the screen and ask students to read them and try to recognize the use of the sentence pattern: It is + adjectives + of sb + (not) to do.
Tell students that this structure used to talk about our feelings towards people and what they do.
2 Task
Students are assigned to do the following task individually.
(1) Ask students to read the sentences in the grammar table on Grammar Part. Encourage students to ask questions if they are unsure of the meaning.
(2) Ask students to complete the exercise on their own. Students have to write the correct words from the box in the blanks without making any changes.
(3) Ask a pair of students to read out what whey have written. Check for incorrect answers and mispronunciation.
3 Practice
Divide the class in groups of four, and ask students to make up their own sentences with the structure ‘It is + adjective + of …+ (not) to-infinitive’. Each student should make at least two sentences, and ask one student to write down the sentences. While one student is making up his or her sentences, the others in his or her group should help him or her correct his or her sentences.
4 Presentation
Tell students that we can also use the verb ‘to be’ + adjective +‘enough’ + ‘to’ –infinitive structure to talk about a person’s personalities and abilities.
5 Task
The teacher assigns the tasks, and students should pay their attention to the following tasks:
⑴ Tell students to use the adjectives to form sentences. Encourage more students to write the sentences with their own adjectives. Accept any sensible answers.
⑵ Ask students to read out their sentences. Check for mistakes and mispronunciation.
6 Practice
Practice in pair. Ask students to make two sentences with the structure ‘to be + adjective + enough + to- infinitive’ of ’ … + ‘(not) to ’ –infinitive to
