    Knw the differences between British English and American English.

    Grasp the phrases: be smarter than, be like ding
    Grasp the sentences: Why dn’t sb d sth?=Why nt d sth? What’s schl like?

    Shw the flags f the UK and the USA. Tell them that peple speak English in bth Britain and the USA , but smetimes they use different wrds which mean the same thing.

    Teach the students the new wrds:

    Task2 Finish Part A n Page 23. Teacher can give mre wrds, such as sweets and candies, hliday and vcatin, biscuit and ckie and s n.
    Task3 Write dwn bth the British and American wrds, then finish Part B.

    Say: There are als sme differences in spelling between British English and American English. Make a table and write dwn sme wrds. E.g. favurite and favrite, centre and center.
    Ask Ss t find mre different wrds means the same thing and different spellings after class.
