    Teaching Prcedures
    Step 1. Revisin
    What kind f TV prgrammes r films d yu ften watch? …
    Why d yu like them? …
    (Encurage the students t give as many answers as pssible.)
    Step2. Presentatin
    D yu knw smething abut Sherlck Hlmes? He is a very famus detective created by Sir Arthur Cnan Dyle. D yu like t watch detective films? I like them very much. By the way, d yu knw what a detective stry is? It’s a type f ystery stry that featuresa detective wh slves f a crime, usually a murder case. The detective films are always full f suspense. I have t use my head t guess wh is the murderer accrding t the plts f the films.
    One day, a man was murdered / killed. There are fur peple were thught they may prbably killed this man, they were the suspects. The plice have made ntes n all f them. If yu are a detective, what questins will yur ask these fur men? Hw can yu make the ntes?
    (List the students’ answers n the bard.)
    What’s yur name? What are yu? Where d yu live? Where were yu …?
    If yu are a gd detective, yu shuld watch these fur suspects carefully, yu als need t write dwn their appearance and their feelings n yur ntes.
    Step 3. Read & practice
    Read the ntes made by the plice in part An page 95 carefully, then try t remember what ught t be included in the detective’s reprt. Then read the ntes again, after reading, clse the bks, ask ne student t describe ne f the suspects, ask the thers t guess wh he was.
    (Encurage the students t think creatively)
    Step 4. Game
    Divide the class int grups f five. Ask ne student in each grup t be the “detective” . The detective must list as many questins as pssible n a piece f paper and ask fur suspects these questins. Then the detective take ntes and make up a prfile fr each suspect.
    Step 5. Presentatin
    (Shw the pictures t the students)
    What is Eddie dresses like? What’s in his hand?
    Step 6. Listen & answer
    There’s a dialgue between Eddie and Hb, listen t it carefully, then try t answer the fllwing questins:
    1. Why is Eddie dressed like that? 2. Is he lking fr a murder?
    Step 7. Read & act
    Read the dialgue after the tape, then act it ut.
    Step 8. Cnslidatin exercise
