Lesson 37 Seasons and Weather
1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:Monday,rainy,Tuesday,outside,Wednesday,Thursday,snowy,skate。
2.让学生了解如何询问天气状况。
3.让学生了解如何介绍不同季节的天气情况。
4.让学生理解表示天气的句型。
1.掌握一些与询问天气和应答有关的词汇:how,weather,cold,cool,rainy,cloudy,windy,snowy。
2.激发学生兴趣,让学生运用所学知识表演询问天气和应答的情景。
掌握以下重点句子:
①What day is it today?
②How is the weather?
③I like to go swimming in summer.
④It’s cold and cloudy.
⑤Let’s go skating,just you and me.
Step 1:Lead-in
Lead-in by discussing the following questions:
1.How many seasons are there in a year?
2.What season do you like?
3.How is the weather in spring?
Discuss the questions in groups. The teacher shows some pictures of different seasons,such as spring,summer,autumn and winter.
Ask the students to talk about them for three minutes,and then let them present their results in class.
Step 2:Listening
Listen to the tape and find the answers to the questions:
1.How is the weather today?
2.What season does Li Ming like?
3.What does Li Lin like to do in summer?
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 3:Reading
Read the lesson and decide the statements are true or false.
1.Wang Mei likes autumn weather.
2.It is windy and cool in winter.
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 4:Activities
1.Greet with friends in groups. Make up a dialogue between three or four students. Then present it in front of the class. The following sentences can be used:
What season do you like?
Can you tell me the reason?
2.Think it over and show us your dialogue.
Step 5:Write a short note
Suppose you are going to talk about the seasons in your city. Write a short note. Remember to tell the change of weather.
Practice for a while. Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6:Come to “Let’s Do It!”
Listen to the tape again and finish Exercise 1 together. Read Part 1 of the lesson and finish Exercise 2.
Work with your partner and finish Exercise 4.
Finish Exercise 3 in “Let’s Do It!”.
