Helen was brn in 1880 in the United States. When she was nineteen mnths ld, Helen fell ill. She had a high fever that made her blind and deaf. Befre her illness, Helen was a bright and happy girl. After she lst her ability t see and hear, she became difficult and wild. She ften shuted and cried. In 1887, a yung teacher named Anne Sullivan, began t help Helen. She spelled wrds n Helen's hand with her fingers. At first, the wrds didn't mean anything t Helen.
Then, ne day， while Helen was playing in sme water, Anne spelled WATER n Helen's hand. Suddenly, Helen understd. That day, she learned many mre wrds: mther, father, sister and teacher. Anne was filled with pride. As Helen grew lder, she made a lt f prgress and learned t read. She had special bks with letters that she culd feel with her fingers. She als learned t write and even speak. When Helen studied at university, Anne sat beside her. She listened t the prfessrs' wrds and
