Wish is used in expressins such as I dn't wish t be rude r withut wishing t be rude as a way f aplgizing r warning smene when yu are ging t say smething which might upset, anny, r wrry them.

Nte that wish and want have similar meanings, but are used differently. If yu wantsmething, yu feel a need fr it r a desire t have it. Yu can say that yu want t d smething, that yu want smene t d smething, r that yu want smething t happen. If yu use wish with a 't' infinitive, this has the same meaning as want but is mre frmal. I want t get ut f here... She wished t cnsult him abut her future. Wish is nrmally fllwed by a 'that'-clause, althugh the wrd 'that' is ften mitted frm the clause. If yu wish that smething was the case, yu wuld like it t be the case, even thugh this is unlikely r impssible. I wish I lived near Lndn... He wished he had phned fr a cab. Nte the use f the tenses in the examples; when wish is in the present tense, the past tense is used in the clause, and when wish is in the past tense, the past perfect tense is used in the clause.
