    这是个并列复合句,全句由并列连词but连接前后两个分句。前句中 that English 为that引导的表语从句,that是连接词,不做成分。后一分句中that引导的是宾语从句。
    that引导的表语从句
    that引导表语从句时,只起连接作用。不在从句中充当任何成分,也没有具体意义,但不能省略。

    问题是他误会了我。
    表语从句的引导词除了that之外,还有hw(如何),why(为什么),when(什么时候),what(什么),where (哪里),whether(是否),because(因为),as if/as thugh(好像,仿佛)等。

    He lks as if/as thugh he's tired. S I ask him t have a rest.

    本句为复合句,句中as为关系代词,引导其后的定语从句,修饰先行词subjects。
    the same .. as...结构
    当先行词是the same或被the same修饰时之后面的定语从句常用as引导,这时as是关系代词,在定语从句中做主语宾语或表语。这样的定语从句常用省略形式。

    He is nt the same man as he was.
    他已不是过去的他了。
    【辨析】the 与 the
    在the 结构中,that所指的事物通常就是前面已经提到的某个特定事物;而在the same…as…结构中,as所指的事物是与前面所提到的事物同类的另一个事物,从句常用省略结构。

    这支钢笔跟我上周丢的那支-样。(不是同一支)

    注意:当先行词是the 时,若定语从句中缺的是状语,需根据先行词来确定关系词用when, where或why等。
