StepⅡ： Lead -in & Pre-reading (2mins)

We all know that everyone needs friends. But have you ever thought the question：“Does a friend always have to be a person？What else can be your friend？”

（A cat？A dog？ A volleyball？ Books ？Toys?......）

StepⅢ：Reading comprehension  (15mins)

1.Skim the first paragraph of the reading passage and answer the following question. (5mins)

 What was Anne’s best friend?   (Anne’s diary )

（答案：last sentence in para1：she made her diary her best friend.）

借助答案出处：举例复习make +宾语+宾补（adj/n.do/done）的结构

Eg：A good friend is someone who makes you happy.

翻译：We made him our monitor. 我们选他当班长。

He tries to make them interested in his lectures.

They made me retell the story .

He raised his voice to make himself heard.

2.Careful reading (10mins)

Ask the Students to read the first two paragraphs carefully and then finish the following Exx.

附：I wonder if it’s because I haven’t been able to be outdoors for so long that I’ve grown so crazy about everything to do with nature. I can well remember that there was a time when a deep blue sky, the song of the birds, moonlight and flowers could never have kept me spellbound. That’s changed since I was here.
