结果状语从句 意为“如此……以至于……”,s/such表示程度,that后接结果状语从句,表示这一程度会造成的结果。其中s是副词,后跟形容词或副词;such是形容词,后跟名词或名词短语。 基本结构: (1) s+形容词/副词+that 从句 He is s strng that he can lift the heavy bx alne. 他是如此强壮,以至于一个人就能举起那只沉重的箱子。
(2) such+a(n)+形容词+单数可数名词+that从句 I live in such a nisy flat that I can nt sleep at night. 我住在一间如此嘈杂的公寓里,以至于晚上无法入睡。 (3) such+形容词+复数可数名词/不可数名词+that从句 He ften tells us such funny jkes that make us laugh. 他经常讲如此有趣的笑话来逗我们笑。 This is such gd news that I can nt help laughing. 这是一条如此好的消息,以至于我情不自禁地笑了。 注意: (4) 在表示由于事物的数量所引起的结果时,使用以下结构: ①s+many/few+复数可数名词+that从句 ②s+much/little+不可数名词+that从句 There are s few phts here that we shuld cherish them. 这里的照片如此少,我们应该珍惜它们。There is s little milk in the fridge that we shuld g t buy sme. 冰箱里只有这么点牛奶了,我们应该去买些。
& enugh t 和enugh t都可以用来表结果。 (1)“t+形容词/副词+(fr sb.) t d sth.”意为“(对某人来说)……太……而不能做某事”。 She walks t fast(fr us) t fllw. 她走得太快,我们跟不上她。 (2)“形容词/副词+enugh+t d sth.”意为“足够……可以做某事”。 Is the river deep enugh t swim in? 这条河足够深到可以游泳吗?
(3) 有时,“t+形容词/副词+t d sth”可与“nt+形容词/副词+enugh+t d sth.”相互转换。 Simn is t yung t g t schl.=Simn is nt ld enugh t g t schl. 西蒙年龄太小,还不能上学。 (4) 有时,“t+形容词/副词+t d sth.”也可与“s+形容词/副词+that从句”相互转换。 She is t pr t affrd such an expensive bluse.=She is s pr that she can’t affrd such an expensive bluse. 她太穷了,买不起一件如此昂贵的衬衫。
