记住一个原则:过于绝对 (all, nly, always, never, certainly) 都是不对的。

It may be hard t believe, but the American Revlutin(革命)—the war that freed the American states frm British cntrl — began ver a cup f tea. Tea was nt the nly thing that caused the war, f curse, but it played a very big part.
The British peple's lve f tea is wellknwn. When the British wn cntrl ver much f Nrth America in the early 1700s, they brught their teadrinking habits with them. Tea quickly became the cntinent's mst ppular drink. As tea culd nt be grwn lcally, just as in Britain, it was shipped int the cuntry — mstly frm India.
In the early 1700s, the British gvernment made a special deal with the East India Cmpany, an English trading cmpany. They agreed that n ther cmpany was allwed t bring tea t Britain r any cuntry cntrlled by Britain, including America. It was a great deal fr the East India Cmpany, since it meant that the cmpany culd decide whatever price it wanted fr its prducts. And it always decided n a high price!
In Nrth America, the lcal peple did nt like having t pay such high prices. Instead f verpaying fr tea frm the British, they turned t Dutch traders, wh secretly brught tea t the cuntry that was just as gd — and much less expensive. Althugh this brke the law, the American peple didn't care. They gt the same cup f tea at a much lwer price.
The East India Cmpany, hwever, didn't like this at all. By the 1760s, they were lsing millins f punds each year t Dutch traders — a huge amunt f mney in a time when £60 a year was cnsidered a gd incme. Instead f reducing their prices t cmpete with the Dutch, the cmpany asked the British gvernment fr help and the gvernment agreed.
In 1767, the British intrduced new laws that increased the prices f all gds which were brught int America. These laws helped make the East India Cmpany even richer and frced lcal peple t pay much mre fr everything. The American leaders asked the British gvernment nt t d s, but the British refused t listen. These unfair laws increased Americans' anger abut British rule and the rest, as they say, is histry.
