One f the mst famus nursery rhymes(摇篮曲) in the English language is “Mary Had a Little Lamb”.It has tuched many children wh have read it.It is abut the deep lve between a yung girl and her pet lamb.The pem is frm a true stry that happened in the early part f the 19th century in the twn f Sterling,Massachusetts,in the US.
Mary Sawyer (1806—1889) lived n a farm with her family.One day,when she was abut nine years ld,she saw a little lamb that had just been brn and left behind by its mther.It was very weak and lked as if it wuld die at any mment.Mary tk pity n the lamb and spent the whle night lking after it.Eventually,it grew strng and became a very clse friend with Mary,fllwing her everywhere she went.
