I've been writing since befre I culd write. As a kid, I dictated stries t my parents. Abut 12years ag, I was living in New Yrk City and pursuing a master in creative writing. Fr years I'd been suffering visin disrder, but in New Yrk my symptms wrsened. I became unable t read r write fr any cnsiderable length f time. I tried visin therapy(疗法),an verhead prjectr, a special pair f glasses-all in vain.
Eventually, I discvered a cmputer prgram fr the visually challenged. As I typed, my wrds were read alud by an autmated vice. With my screen dimmed t black, I relied entirely n audi feedback t knw what I had written.
Facing the blank page is wrrying, but facing the black page is wrse. The dark screen is a sinkhle that swallws creative hpe. Sentences disappear int it like an astrnaut int a black hle. I managed t cmplete my master degree, but it tk me years t adapt t my new reality. The greatest barrier seemed t be the autmated vice, which was like a rbt parrt n my shulder, and I wanted nthing mre than t drive it away. If a pianist were frced t practice n an unturned pian, wuld it crrupt his ear ver time?
Of curse, I culd have quit writing and stpped making myself suffer. But it hnestly never ccurred t me-and I'm glad it didn't. Last year, after I tld my stry n the radi, I was cntacted by VcaliD, a Massachusetts-based cmpany that created a vice mdeled n my wn.
The first time I heard the vice they created, it is s clse t my wn that the tw are nearly indistinguishable. I've nly just begun using this new vice. My hpe is that this will restre a sense f slitude(孤独) t my writing prcess, allwing me easier access t that inner space where the imaginatin can take ver, and I can frget myself, and the real wrk can begin.
The black screen still exists-it always will-but the rbt parrt has taken wing.
4.What happened t the authr when pursuing a master degree in New Yrk?
A.His sight started t fail due t much reading.
B.His eyes culdn't sustain lng hurs f reading.

B.The pet parrt n his shulder.
C.The cmputer with a dark screen.
D.The nise frm a neighbring pianist.
6.Hw did the authr feel when first hearing the vice created by VcaliD?
    A. Excited.B.Annyed.C.Unmved.D.Relaxed.
7.What can we infer frm the last paragraph?
    A. The autmated vice is t annying t bear.
B.The authr can restre his sight t nrmal.
C.The authr starts t enjy his writing again.
D.It is likely that the technlgy will imprve.

As a CEO f a startup, yu get used t hearing "n". Yu als face an endless cntinuatin f what feels like shcking crises, like nearly running ut f cash, lsing a key custmer, discvering a widespread prduct failure, r having t shut dwn peratins because f a glbal pandemic. But it tums ut that these disasters can actually be gd fr yu. In fact, I'm nt sure whether yu can innvate withut them. Here's what all ur crises have taught me.
It's gd t be uncmfrtable. We nce had a key custmer request-a battery capability that we'd never develped befre. The custmer made it clear that if we culdn't develp this capability ,they'd be less cnfident in ur prduct. We wrestled with the risks, nt least f which was the ptential embarrassment if we culdn't meet the custmer's needs. We knew we'd face many technical prblems if we tried t g int peratin. Yet we decided t try t satisfy the custmer, even if it wasn't bvius at first hw we culd get it dne. A few weeks later we delivered smething beynd what the custmer had asked fr, and we've since grwn this capability int a pwerful sales tl and ptential revenue stream-nt t mentin it strengthened ur relatinship with the custmer.
Shrt-term failure is gd. A few years ag, ur cmpany began t expand ur manufacturing utput in respnse t a custmer's need. In the prcess we discvered smething unusual we hadn't seen during smaller-scale prductin. Our team dived int failure analysis, and we finally put the prblem dwn t a single material within the battery. We'd used this material fr years, but nw we needed a replacement. Once we made that change, the battery quality and reliability greatly imprved.
It's kay t shw weakness. One f my hardest days as CEO. was the day when I fund ut I was pregnant. We were in the middle f raising a funding rund, and I had been traveling nnstp fr a year. Until that day, I had assumed that my rle as CEO was t display strength and cnfidence. With the munting pressure I was harder n myself than I needed t be, and nw I had the added stress f being pregnant. I decided t acknwledge t my team that I was breaking dwn. They united tgether and fund ways t perate mre smthly and cmmunicate mre effectively, supprting me t fcus my time n mst pressing gals. This gave me nt nly the space t plan fr the cmpany’s future, but als t prepare fr my wn new nrmal: leading while becming a first-time mther.
    8. What des the underlined wrd "then" in Paragraph 1 refer t?
    A:Frequent rejectins.B.Financial crises.
    C.Glbal pandemics.D.Endless disasters.
9.What des the authr want t cnvey in Paragraph 27
    A. Custmers' requests shuld be carefully evaluated.
B.Meeting challenges can bring abut extra benefits.
C.The cmpany shuld keep launching new prducts.
D.Innvatin is the nly way t win fierce cmpetitin.
    10. Hw des the authr prve shrt-term failure is beneficial?
    A. By drawing a cmparisn.B.By giving an example.
C.By challenging assumptins.D.By ding an experiment.
    11. Which f the fllwing might be the best title f the passage?
    A.Learn t let gB.Make it as a CEO
C.Think deep smetimesD.Make friends with crises
    D
Wrried abut the effect reality TV is having n yur child? Yu aren't being verprtective-there's increasing evidence that these prgrammes can have a big impact n yung peple.
When ur children are yung, we tend t give careful thught t hw much TV they're watching and whether r nt it's gd fr them. But as they grw up, mst parents let their kids make mre independent chices abut their viewing.
Hwever, if yu've gt children, yu may want t stay attentive. A research indicates that sme reality TV shws can be every bit as damaging fr teenage girls as t many cartns. are fr kids-perhaps even wrse.
The truth is that reality TV is anything but reality-but that's nt necessarily what ur children
believe. A study fr the Girl Scut Research Institute in the US fund that eight ut f ten girls aged between 11 and 17 wh regularly watch reality shws believe these prgrammes describe real life.
In fact, much f reality TV is a heavily manipulated(操控)view f what's really happening, and the wrst f it strengthens the srt f female steretypes(刻板印象)wmen have spent decades trying t remve.
Many f the wmen n reality TV shws are acting ut lives as teenage mthers r drama queens. Strng, hard-wrking, purpseful yung wmen with ambitins beynd their lks are rare in these prgrammes. There's a widespread emphasis n the value f wmen being abut hw they lk and dress, which gives yung viewers the message that being a wman is all abut style and appearance, nt what yu d r stand fr.
Cultural critic and writer Jennifer Pzner describes reality TV as "the cntemprary backlash(抵制) against feminism". Imran Siddiguee, Directr f Scial Media and Outreach, is cncerned that these prgrammes shw the wrst steretypes f wmanhd and “nrmalize" them in what appear t be everyday settings."They ffer such a limited view f what it is t be a wman, and allver the wrld yung girls are addicted t it," he says.
Siddiquee des recgnize, hwever, that many girls themselves value reality TV. Sme say it encurages them t think abut situatins different frm their wn. They als pint ut that sme shws feature wmen running their wn successful businesses.
"It's imprtant t acknwledge that there are sme useful elements in reality TV," Siddiquee says."But many girls need t be inspired t think mre critically abut sme aspects f these shws s they're nt manipulated by them and s their behaviur desn't change because f them."
We shuld encurage ur children t be critical thinkers and help them develp their media literacy. Whether reality TV is changing ur children's views, r whether they are attracted t prgrammes that agree with their beliefs, it's vital we recgnize that their viewing habits culd strengthen these unbalanced ideals.
12.Wh are likely t be the prime victims f reality TV shws?
    A.Small children.B.Teenage girls.
    C.New parents.D.Randm audience.
    13. What is the prblem with a reality TV shw?
    A. It is t true t life fr viewers t believe in.
    B. Actrs in them lack a sense f innvatin.
    C. Its cntents and views are rather artificial.
D.It can hardly cater fr teenage girls' taste.
14.As far as the authr is cncerned, what shuld reality TV shws present?
A.Genuine accunts f females and their wrk.
B.Ways t gain mre ppularity amng peers.
C.Distinctin between true life and TV dramas.
D.Tips n hw t becme ambitius yung girls.
    15.Imran Siddquee believes that.
    A. it is nrmal t include steretypes f females in reality TV shws
B.teens need guidance n hw t critically assess the cntents f such shws
C.parents shuld leave children t make independent chices when viewing
D.there are mre useful elements than bad steretypes in reality TV shws

    A篇
第1题 D 根据题目定位至茶的功效两个板块,在“Benefits”部分中我们可得知, “three r fur cups f tea a day will reduce the chances f heart attacks and certain cancers.” “Other health benefits include bne strengthening and prtectin against bad teeth.”
    第4题 B 定位至题干所指向的段落,根据上下文可知, “I became unable t read r write fr any cnsiderable length f time” ,即作者因为视觉障碍而无法长时间地专注写作或阅读。
    第5题 A 定位至第三段第四行处,“The greatest barrier seemed t be the autmated vice.”
第一段them所在句子的前一句 disasters can actually be gd fr yu.
第12题 B 第三段 reality TV shws can be every bit as damaging fr teenage girls...
第14题 A 第八段最后一句 shws feature wmen running their wn successful business.
根据后文“then, g fr lnger distances gradually.”
    第20题 E 这题要抓好本段的主题词 make it a habit. habit非常重要,因为E 选项的brushing yur teeth, 都是论证habit的,相比C选项,更加能够呼应文章主题词!

Experts have fund that there are clear
health benefits f drinking tea. Research has led t the discvery that chemicals fund in tea can help prevent cell damage. cup f tea, yu wuld still have a gain f fluid
