Step 1. I. Pre-reading
1. The wrld has many great rivers. Ask the students if they culd travel dwn nly ne f them, which ne wuld they chse? Why?

Ask: Can yu tell the differences between the Mekng River and the Lancang River ? (Lk at the map carefully.)
Answer: The Chinese part f the river is called the Lancang River and after flwing in ther cuntries the river is called the Mekng River.

T: Ask the students t listen t the tape abut the stry.

Wh are Da Wei and Yu Hang?
Where it the surce f the Mekng River and which sea des it enter?
What can yu see when yu travel alng the Mekng?
