    Knowledge aims:

    1 Get the students to learn the Attributive Clause introduced by the Relative Adverbs and preposition+which/whom.

    2 Let the students learn usages of relative adverbs and preposition+ which/whom.

    Ability aims:

    1 Enable the students to use the Attributive Clause correctly and properly.

    2 Enable the students to know how to choose proper relative adverbs for the Attributive Clause.

    3 Enable the students to know how to choose proper prepositions.

    Emotional aims:

    1 Get the students to become interested in grammar learning.

    2 Develop the students’ sense of group cooperation.

    教学重点

    Get the students to master the Attributive Clause introduced by the Relative Adverbs and preposition+ which/whom.

    教学难点

    Enable the students learn how to choose relative adverbs and how to use preposition+ which/whom correctly.

    教学方法

    Task-based teaching and learning, cooperative learning and practice.

    Step 1 Revision   5’

    1 看图合并句子[来源:学。科。网ZXXK]

    The girl is my sister.

    She is sitting there. 

    2 复习定语从句的结构。

    定语从句的定义:修饰名词或代词的从句。  

    先行词:被定语从句修饰的名词或代词。         

    关系词: 引导定语从句的关联词叫做关系词。[来源:&&Z&X&X&K]

    关系代词:that which who whom whose

    关系副词:  where when why

    Step 2        10’

    1 观察与思考where 引导的定语从句。

    This is the middle school.

    I studied in the middle school two year ago.

    变为定语从句:This is the school where I studied two years ago.

    分析:where 充当地点状语,在句子中相当于in the middle school.

    2观察与思考when 引导的定语从句。

    1           They’ll never forget July 1.

    2           Hongkong returned to China on July 1.

    变为定语从句:They’ll never forget July 1 when Hongkong returned to China. 分析:when充当时间状语,在句子中相当于on July 1.

    3观察与思考why 引导的定语从句。

    1           Why did Elias leave his school?

    2           Because his family couldn’t pay for the school fees and the bus fare.

    变为定语从句:The reason why Elias left his school was that his family could’t pay for the school fees and the bus fare.

    分析:why引导的定语从句一般要加一个先行词reason,其结构为the reason why …is/was that…

             when引导的定语从句修饰表示时间的名词, 并在定语从句中作时间状语, 相当于介词+关系代词(which)”

             I’ll never forget the day when I joined the league.

             I’ll never forget the day on which I joined the league.

             Why表示原因,引导的从句修饰名词reason,在从句中做原因状语,相当于:“for+ which”

    1 介绍介词+关系代词的用法:先行词是物 介词+which; 先行词是人 介词+whom[来源:__]

    2 观察与思考如何正确使用介词。

      介词的选择要依据定语从句中的———来确定。

    A形容词的固定搭配 B先行词与介词的固定搭配 C动词的固定搭配

    We met the man whom we talked about.

    = We met the man about whom we talked.

    It is a beautiful country which we are proud of.

    = It is a beautiful country of which we are proud.

    =This is the house in which I lived two years ago.
