    Hi Danny,
Greetings frm the Great Barrier Reef! I’m riding n a sailing bat with sme relatives as I write this. We’re diving here all next week. The reef is lcated in the Cral Sea that is ff the nrtheast cast f Australia.
The reef is made up f many crals. Crals are very hard and made f many tiny animals called “plyps” that lk like underwater flwers. The crals need help t eat. They have a special relatinship with ther small animals, “algae” (藻类), which take in sunlight and make energy fr the crals. It’s the algae that give clr t the crals. Because algae need sunlight, the crals are very clse t the surface f the water.
Tgether, the many crals create a magical envirnment. They make a hme fr the animals that live in the sea. When I went diving the ther day, I saw all types f different animals—dlphins, turtles (海龟) and sea snakes. I was surprised at being able t see sme fish I see nly in mvies, like clwn fish (小丑鱼). As I am diving, I can feel the spirit f this magical place. It seems that these animals aren’t surprised t see me. Maybe they think I’m anther fish!
Sadly, accrding t scientists, the Great Barrier Reef is dying because the water is getting warmer due t glbal warming. As the cean gets warmer, the algae that live in the crals are cut ff frm the fd they need fr making energy. As a result, they leave the crals, and the crals die and lse their clr. We see many dead white crals when we dive. We need t stp glbal warming and keep the water frm getting htter!
    See yu sn,
    Glria
