The dirt rad gave way t a gravel ne and then a paved ne, yet there was still neither a car nr a huse in sight. My legs were getting tired. I nticed that the sun was starting t g dwn and I grew scared. I didn’t want t end up trapped n this rad in the dark f night, but I was sure it wuld be dark befre I culd make my way back t the lake again.
    I cntinued t walk n with smething grwing inside f me. My heart was punding and my legs were aching. I was almst in tears when I turned ne last curve and saw smething in the distance. It was a huse that I recgnized. My heart leaps up! I jumped up and dwn and laughed ut lud. I knew the way hme! It was still ver a mile away but my legs felt like feathers and I hurried back t my huse in n time. I walked in with a big smile n my face just in time fr dinner. Then I ended my adventure with a gd night’s sleep.
    I ften thught f that experience recently. Actually, in ur life, all rads, n matter hw they twist and turn, can lead us hme again. They can lead us t ur hmes here n Earth. They can lead us t ur hmes in ur hearts. May yu always walk yur path with lve. May yu always help yur fellw travelers alng the way. And may yur rads always lead yu hme again.

O’Brady was the first t cnquer the 930-mile icy land, arriving at the Rss Ice Shelf n the Pacific cast by way f the Suth Ple n December 26, 2018. The 33-year-ld spent 54 days skiing the wrld’s cldest cntinent while pulling a 300-pund sled(雪橇) with supplies.
    Instead f leaving the harsh envirnment after cmpleting the histric adventure, the explrer set up a tent n the wrld’s largest ice sheet and waited patiently fr Rudd t cmplete the great undertaking. On December 29, just three days after O’Brady arrived, the British explrer finished his adventure, becming the wrld’s secnd persn t cmplete the sl crssing f the frzen cntinent.
    Rudd was nt disappinted at being secnd since he never cnsidered it t be a“race”. Besides, the 49-year-ld British Army Captain had a mre selfless mtive fr attempting the feat. He was ding it in memry f his friend Henry Wrsley, wh had intrduced him t plar explratin. The disaster happened while Wrsley was trying t crss the cntinent alne in 2016. Rudd said, “I didn’t want t get drawn int a race. All that mattered t me was that I cmpleted it, and that I skied sl and unsupprted, carrying the flag with Henry’s name n it. ”
