Early in the year, the hpe was that the bttlenecks that messed up the glbal supply chain in 2020 wuld be mstly cleared by nw. They've actually nly gtten much wrse and evidence is munting that the hliday seasn is at risk.
Acrss Eurpe, retailers(零售商) can't meet demand because f delivery delays. In the U.S., Nike cut its sales frecast after COVID19 set ff factry clsures in Vietnam that wiped ut mnths f prductin.

“Cnsumers might see news abut prt backups(阻塞), but that wn't hit hme until they try t buy the ty f the year and can't get it,” Bartashus, an analyst fr Blmberg Intelligence, said. “That's when they'll hit crisis mde.”

A. The gds are munting. B. Supply chain issues are getting wrse.
C. The cnsumers becme hpeless. D. The hliday seasn hits the bttlenecks.
( )33. What prblem is Jay Freman faced with?
A. Basic Fun lacks rders. B. There exists a shrtage f shippers.
C. His ty cmpany has its wrst year. D. The factry is filled with finished gds.
( )34. Which f the fllwing will hurt every retailer?
A. Cnsumers will have limited ptins.

M: Is that why yu're ut here? Yu think yu left it in the yard?
W: Where else culd it be? I nly went between the huse and the car yesterday. After Amy called and tld me she wasn't cming ver anymre, I decided t just relax inside all day. I've checked every rm.
M: OK. Well, Amy just called up and said she is cming ver. Hw abut the three f us search tgether?
W: That's a gd idea. Three pairs f eyes are better than ne. I will take a shrt break and think abut the paths I traveled yesterday. Maybe I will remember smething.
M: Gd idea. While yu d that, I will check the laundry. I hpe it wasn't washed by accident. That wuld be a shame if it were ruined in the washing machine.

W: We've added a lt f new public spaces and will cntinue t build mre in the future. Als, I agree that we need t fix ur sprts facilities, but I'd als like t recmmend that we decrease taxes.
M: We need tax mney t build a better future fr us and the large grups f peple mving int ur twn.
W: The number f residents here is decreasing! I think we shuld all reach an agreement n which issues t make a pririty instead f giving that pwer t lcal pliticians.
M: I'd als like us t have a vte instead. On the list f issues, I'd like t create better parking near the mall.
W: I knw that yu live next t the shpping center. This is a gd idea. I think increasing ur plice frce shuld be ur mst imprtant issue.
M: Safety is imprtant, but imprving the schls shuld be the first plan.
W: I disagree, but we shuld all vte n this. Secndly, we shuld cntinue stpping big cmpanies frm mving t the twn.
M: We shuld prmte small businesses instead. This creates mre jb pprtunities.

W: I learned frm a yung age that the animal kingdm was an amazing place. I remember my teacher's lessns n different creatures in different envirnments. Mrs. Keller always spke with enthusiasm abut the different tls that each animal had develped t survive. Hwever, what interested me mst was the animals that helped ne anther. Certain animals frm a bnd that benefits bth f them. Fr instance, there's a type f fish that attaches itself t sharks. The fish actually ride n the sharks as they g. They even eat the remaining fd frm the shark's meals. In return, when the shark isn't giving them a free meal, they clean the shark. The small fish eat away anything that wuld cause an infectin in the shark. Isn't that amazing? What's even mre amazing is that sme animals have adapted t creating a bnd with humans t. The “hney guide” is a bird that will lead humans t the insects that prduce hney. The birds have learned t change their call when they find the insects. They d this specifically t warn humans in the area. Why, yu ask? It's because the humans use smke t make the insects calm dwn. The smke sends the insects away frm prtecting the hney. This allws the birds t get the first taste f the hney as a reward. Facts like this are what make me lve nature s much. Maybe the pwer f ne's belief isn't the ultimate example f intelligence.Maybe, in a cnstantly changing wrld, the ability t make judgements and change ne's mind accrdingly is much mre imprtant. That's Adam Grant's thery, and Think__Again is here t help yu t lk at the wrld arund yu, check yur assumptins, and—yu guessed it—think again. —ChrisSchluep, AmaznEditr
This bk reads like fictin but tells the true stry f murder and greed that trubled the Osage Natin in Oklahma in the 1920s. When il was discvered n their land, the Osage peple became the wealthiest in the wrld and the targets(particularly the wmen) fr the white men wh had their sights set n marrying and murdering int their riches. I suggest yu treat yurself t this exceptinal read right nw. —SeiraWilsn, AmaznEditr
The subject f Isaacsn's bk is Jennifer Dudna, wh wn the 2020 Nbel Prize in Chemistry fr her wrk develping CRISPR. CRISPR is the innvatin that will pen the dr t gene cntrl, driving the life sciences revlutin fr decades t cme. But it will als pen the dr t mral prblem as we ask urselves. Hw far shuld we g in editing humans—especially befre birth—and wh shuld cntrl thse decisins?—VannessaCrnin, AmaznEditr
While the bk unflds during the curse f a single day, flashbacks t when a grup f kids were crwding arund a desk and t when their rck star father abandned them time and again reveal the cmplex dynamics still in frce in their adulthd. After I finished this bk, I wuld dream f these characters and their restaurant by the sea. Malibu__Rising is a fun, unfrgettable read. —AlWdwrth, AmaznEditr
