Step 1: Lead-in
1. Greet the students in English. Ask the students t read and match.
2.Shw the pictures t review the eight names learned. Ask the students t read the English names first and then put them in rder accrding t the first letter.
3. Review hw t write the letters crrectly.
Step 2: Presentatin
1. Teach activity 3a
T: First, have a quick lk at the three pictures in 3a. Then tell me what yu can see in these pictures, and what are they ding. Nw let’s listen t the tape.
(1) Play the tape fr the first time. The students listen nly and pay attentin t the prnunciatin and intnatin.
(2) Play the tape again and ask the students t number the cnversatins.
(3) Check the answers with the whle class.

2. Teach activity 3b
(1) Put students int pairs t practice the cnversatin in 3a. Remind them t pay attentin t the prnunciatin and intnatin.
(2) Leave them several minutes t d it, and then invite sme pairs t act ut fr the whle class.
3. Teach activity 3c
(1) Ask the students t listen nly and pay attentin t the prnunciatin and intnatin.
(2) Ask the students t read after the tape and practice the dialgue in pairs.
(3) Ask several pairs t act ut their cnversatins fr the whle class.
4. Teach activity 3d
(1)Let students lk at the sample cnversatin in the bx in 3d. And then ask students t read it tgether.
(2)Ask students t chse an English name fr themselves. Then make cnversatins with their deskmates like this.
(3)Leave students several minutes t d it, ffer help as needed.
(4)Play a game--Wh has the mst friends?
Students mve arund the classrm, try t knw as many friends as they can and practice the dialgue with them. Let’s see “Wh has the mst friends?” in just three minutes. Students shuld pint t the persns and tell their names. The winner can get a present.
Step 4: Practice
1. Teach activities 4a
(1) Ask students t find ut the names f the children n page S1.
(2) Ask students t write names in alphabetical rder and remind them that the first letter f the names shuld be capitalized.
(3) Check the answers. Crrect mistakes if any.

(1) G ver the prnunciatin f the eight letters and shw their phnetics.
(2) Ask students t put the letters in the right phnetics grup.

(4) After the listening, invite sme students t repeat, checking their prgress.
3. Teach activity 4c
(1)Ask students t read thrugh the instructin f this activity s that they can understand hw t d it.
(2)Leave students several minutes t read the letters and wrds in the bx, mve arund and help the students if necessary.
(3)Invite sme students t read them fr the whle class and explain the meanings f the new wrds.
Step 5: Cnslidatin
Teach activity 4d
(1)Ask the students t read the wrds in the sng and find ut the greetings and the answers.
(2)Divide the class int tw grups and ask them t read the wrds in the sng.
(3)Play the tape f the sng, ask students t listen fr the first time.
(4)Play it again, ask students t repeat. After that, get students t sing tgether.
(5)Let the bys have a try, then the girls.
(6)Ask the students t sing it in grups and have a cmpetitin.

1. Practice the cnversatin and recite it.
