Step 1. Lead in

1. 导入

教师出示一张动物园的照片，说：“Let’s go to the zoo and see animals.”

2．Guessing game

动物园里有六扇大门，每扇大门后面都有一个动物，猜猜这些动物是什么？（复习之前学习过的动物名称monkey, panda, pig 等）

【设计意图】

通过热身激发学生学习兴趣，创设情境，利用图片复习单词导入，为引出学习动物特征做铺垫。

Step 2. Presentation

1.Learning

出示一张大熊猫的图片，师说：“Look at that panda, It’s fat. ”学习形容词“fat”的发音，拼读及汉语的意思。通过反复跟读，分组比赛多种形式的练习，熟练掌握。用类似的方式学习thin, tall和short。

2.Play a game

(1) Let’s read

通过转动转盘，当它停止时，读指针上的单词。可以比一比看一看，看谁说的又对又快。

【设计意图】

通过游戏，激发学生学习兴趣，通过多次练习能够熟练掌握这四个单词。

2. Let’s  learn

(1)介绍对话情景

T: Miss White and her students are talking about the animals now. Let’s read the dialogue after the tape and know more about the animals.

(3)第一次播放教学录音，全班学生跟着录音读。第二次播放教学录音，学生听完录音后回答下面问题：

What’s that monkey like ?

第三次播放教学录音，全班学生跟着录音读，提醒学生在跟读的过程中注意模仿录音中的语音、语调。

【设计意图】

通过让学生带着问题听录音，整体感知对话情景，整体感知对话后，及时教学新的句型It’s……。

Step 3. Practice

1.Look and choose.

出示带有动物的图片，指导同学们看图片选择相对应的答案。通过多种形式的练习，让学生熟练掌握句型。It’s tall/short. It’s fat/thin.

2.Look and say.

让学生们看着图片上的动物，用自己的语言描述动物的特征（tall/short; fat/thin），教师可以指导学生用句型look at the……和句型it’s……。

【设计意图】

通过对话操练，不断提高学生对新内容的熟悉和掌握程度。

Step 4. Let’s do.

(1)展示图片，教师边做一个胖的动作，边说be fat，be fat，be fat，fat，fat！学生边说边跟做。以同样的方式练习thin、tall和short。

(2)随音乐，边听边做。

【设计意图】

通过类似情景的对话操练，不断提高学生语言的流利度和准确度。

Step 5. Exercise

Game 1.I say, you do.

可以老师说学生做，也可以找一个学生说其他学生做。进一步练习fat、thin、tall和short。

Game 2.正话反做

当老师说：“fat”的时候，同学们做出“short”的动作，做错的同学被淘汰，不能进行下一个动作，看谁最后能获胜。

Step 6 Summary

Step 7. Homework

1.Read the sentences P25 and remember the four words: fat、thin、tall、short.
