Ⅰ.Warm-up activities:
1.Greetings:
T: Class begins.
S: Stand up!
All the students stand up, turn back and say, “Gd mrning teachers, welcme yu!” Then they turn back and say, “Gd mrning, Lily!”
T: Gd mrning, children! Sit dwn, please!
2.Assessment: Tday I’ll divide yu int fur grups, yu are Running / Jumping /Ftball / Basketball Team. Teacher shws the card f “team” t students. Then teacher teaches them t read the wrd.Here is the Sun, if yu bey the rules, yu answer my questins quickly and crrectly, yur grup can match n ne step t the Sun.
3.TPR game:
(1)T: I say, yu d. “stand up / sit dwn / run / swim / jump / run fast / jump high / play ftball / play basketball/ play table tennis”
(2)T: I d, yu say. Teacher des the actins, students lk and describe the actins.
Ⅱ. Presentatin:
1.Teacher says, “We’re ging t have a sprts day, I want t knw yu. Wh can run fast?”
2.Teacher chses a student and asks the student “Can yu run fast? Can yu jump high?” Let the student answer with “Yes, I can … well” r “N, I can’t. I … badly. ”Teacher shws the cards, gestures and expressins , teacher says and writes dwn the wrd— “well/ badly ” n the blackbard.Teacher helps all the students t understand the meaning f “well/ badly”. Then teacher says, “He/ She can … well/ badly” and write dwn the tw drills--- Can yu …? and He/ She can … well/ badly n the blackbard.
3. Teacher says we are ging t have a ftball team in ur class. Wh can guess the meaning f “team”, students guess, then teacher shws them the wrd card f “team”. Teacher writes dwn the wrd “team” n the blackbard.
4. Teacher says, "We need a student, he can cntrl the ball", teacher des the actins and let the students guess the meaning f cntrl, and then teacher shws the card f “cntrl”. And teacher writes dwn the phrase “cntrl the ball …” n the blackbard. Teacher asks students “Can yu cntrl the ball?” Helping students answer “Yes, I can, I can cntrl the ball very well / very badly.”
5. Teacher asks anther ne “I can play basketball and I can catch the ball very well.” “Can yu catch the ball? Can yu catch the ball well?” Teacher des the actins t helping students understanding it. Teacher shws the card f “catch”. Teacher writes dwn the phrase “catch the ball”. Students fllw t say.
6. Teacher says “Yaming can jump high, he can cntrl the ball well, he can catch the ball well, he is a fantastic basketball player.” Teacher desn't say the wrd “ fantastic ” luder, teacher shws the card f “fantastic”, teacher writes dwn it n the blackbard.And then teacher divides the wrd int three grups, let the students prnunce it part by part. Teacher helps them at last and give them the crrect prnunciatin.
Ⅲ.Listening practice:
1.Students listen t the tape and try t find ut the new wrd, if they can find it, please put up their hands and repeat the wrds r the phrases. (Assessment)
2.Teacher chses tw students cming t the frnt, thers put their hands under the desk. Teacher plays the tape again t see wh is the winner t find the new wrds with the hammer. (Assessment)
Ⅳ.Listening and reading practice:
1.Students read the new wrds and phrases in whle class. Teacher gives them the assessment f reading.
2.Teacher shws the wrd cards, students read them grup by grup.
3.Teacher says the wrd r the phrase withut the sund, students lk and guess.
4.Teacher reads the wrds in different sund, students fllw t read.
5.Teacher plays the tape again, students listen, circle the new wrds and phrases, then try t fllw t say.

1.Teacher chses a student standing in frnt f ther students, teacher shws the card r the phrases, thers lk and ask the student “Can yu …?” The student must answer with “Yes, I can. I can …well / N, I can’t. I … badly.”
2.Other students cming t the frnt t be the teacher and des the actin.

1.Students practice as the news reprter, they ask and answer in pairs with the drill “Can yu …?”
