打雷时,空气中会产生大量的负离子，他们互相碰撞会产生电荷，这些负离子会依附在比较高的物体上，容易吸引雷电，雷电劈下来是带着极大的电流的，由于树不是一个好的导体，树干的阻力比较大，所以电流会停止从树上直接泻到大地。人在树躲雨的过程中，在这个大树的雷电下来到达人头顶上的时候，有一个电弧闪落，闪过来之后打在人的头上，又通过人体一直泻放到地底下去，就是这么个原因。
懂得了这些常识，人们就不会去躲在树下了，毕竟人们还是比较珍惜生命的 雷雨天气安全常识 1、雷雨闪电时，不要拨打接听电话，要关闭手机，因电话线和手机的电磁波会引入雷电伤人。2、雷雨闪电时，不要开电视机、电脑、VCD机等，应拔掉一切电源插头，以免伤人及损坏电器 3、不要站在电灯泡下，不要冲凉洗澡。 4、尽量不要开门、开窗，防止雷电直击室内。 5、乘坐汽车等遇到打雷闪电，不要将头手伸出窗外。 　 6、在雷阵雨较大时要远离树木，尽量不要大跨步跑动，可以选择建筑物躲雨，但不宜选择车内躲雨。 　　 7、不要把晾晒衣服被褥的铁丝，拉接到窗户及门上。 　　 8、不要穿戴湿的衣服、帽子、鞋子等在大雷雨下走动。对突来雷电，应立即下蹲降低自己的高度，同时将双脚并拢，以减少跨步电压带来的危害。 　　 9、闪电打雷时，不要接近一切电力设施，如高压电线变压电器等。
