    Step 1 . Free talk
    1.Lead-in: Quick answers.
    Ask the students sme greeting questins ne by ne and let them answer them quickly.
    Hi! Hell! Gd mrning/ afternn/ evening/ night! Gdbye! Bye-bye! Bye! What’s yur name? Yu’re Millie, right? Hw are yu? Hw ld are yu? Are yu a dctr?
    2.Revisin: Yes r N questin.
    Is ur schl big? Are yu a by? Is Mr Chen in the ffice? Are yu in Grade 7? Is Millie gd at swimming?
    Step 2 Pre-reading
    1.presentatin.
    Millie is happy t make sme new friends. Let’s meet her new friends. Then take ut the charts f Kitty, Amy, Ya Ming, Jack Zhu and Meng Fei and present the five peple ne by ne.
    Kitty and Amy : Read Part A1 and answer: Is Amy’s hair ahut? What abut Kitty?
    What d they like ding?
    Ya Ming, Jzck Zhu , and Meng Fei: sme questins abut their hair and hbbies.
    learn the new wrds.
    Take ut the charts and write the infrmatin f the five peple n the blackbard, then learn the wrds “hair, age , hbby, lks, cute”
    3. Read and circle
    Step 3. While-reading
    1.Listen t the listning text twice and circle the knwn infrmatin, then check the answers.
    2.Try t make shrt passages abut five peple in the table.
    Fr example : This is Ya Ming. He is 33 years ld. He has shrt hair. He is tall and strng. He is gd at playing basketball.
    3. cmplete the ntes accrding t the table infrmatin.
    Give the students a few minutes t prepare fr the ntes. Then check the answers. Read it at last.
    Step4. Speak up
    1. Presentatin
    Millie is happy t finish the ntes. Her cusin Andy cmes t meet her. They meet Kitty. Kitty desn’t knw Andy. D yu want t knw Andy?
    Explain :cusin :the child f yur father’s r mther’s sisters r brthers.
    Listen t their cnversatin and answer the questin.
    Questin : Is Andy in Grade 7?
    Read after the tape and find ut hw Andy and Kitty greet each ther.
    Read the cnversatin carefully, and find ut “Glad t meet yu.”
    Explain : glad, happy , nice
    Discussin
    Make similar cnversatins like Part B in grups f three. Then act it ut .
    Step 5 . Hmewrk
    1. Try t write smething abut yur best friend.
    2. Try t make similar dialgues in the textbk with yur classmates.
