You may have a sense of direction, or you may not. Some people could find their way across the Sahara without a map, while others can get lost easily even with a map. Why?
Scientists say people are all born with a sense of direction, but they are not sure how it works. One theory(理 论) is that people with a good sense of direction have simply worked harder at developing it. Research being carried out at the University of Liverpool supports this idea. It suggests that if people don't develop their sense of direction, they will lose it.
"Children have the ability to find their way after they are seven years old, "says Jim Martland, the research director of the project. "However, if they are not allowed to go out alone or are taken everywhere by car; they will never develop the skills to improve their sense of direction. "
Jim Martand also emphasizes(强调 that young people should be taught certain skills to improve their sense of direction. He gives the following suggestions.
★ If you are using a map, try to find the place where you are and the place where you are going. Try to find the way between them.
★ If you leave your bike in a strange place, put in near something like a big stone or a tree. Note landmarks on the route(路线) as you go away from your bike. When you return, go back along the same route.
★ Use lines such as streets in a town, or walls in the countryside to guide you, Count your steps so that you know how far you have gone. Note any landmark such as a tower block or a hill which can help you to find out where you are.
61. Scientists believe that only some people are born with the sense of direction.
62. The sense of direction is a lifelong ability.
63. Kids can't develop a good sense of direction if they're always driven around in a car.
64. Counting our steps can help us know how far we have gone.

So, it's exam time again. Have you done the necessary work to get good scores?
Some students sleep with the textbook under the pillow(杭头) in the hope that knowledge will be magically going to their brain. But it doesn't work. The best way is to practice repeatedly over a long period of time instead of learning all things in a short time before exams. Just as a scientist called Tom Stafford advises, if you organize five hours of study into one hour a day, you'll remember more than if you study for five hours on one day.
_________ -get a pen and paper and start working. Students who can test themselves
earlier will be better at getting back the knowledge from the memory and keep it in the long run. John Dunlosky, a Professor of Psychology at Kent State University in the US; suggests that "You start by reading a textbook with your favorite pens and colors; and then write down the important ideas on small cards. While doing so, you actually try to test yourselves on them."
Good revision(复习) should give you confidence. But if you are still worried, some special traditions are suggested. In Japan it seems to be a tradition for students to eat Katsudon before a test. This is a bowl of rice with egg and pork pieces; The name of the dish makes people think of the word“Katsu", meaning "winning". For some students in South Korea, the key to success is not washing their hair before an exam, because they believe they could wash all the knowledge out of their heads. And in different parts of the world, there are always those who believe in their "lucky socks".
The bottom line is that you need to stay healthy. Eating good meals, drinking enough water and sleeping well on the eve of the test help a lot. They make it easier for you to get success.
Good luck in your exam!

A. Korean students. B. Japanese students. C. Chinese students.
74. What can you infer from this passage?
A. The traditions about exams always work out.
B. Writing while reading is just a waste of time.
C. To memorize the knowledge, some people even choose to sleep with the textbook.
75. What's the best title for the passage?
A. Are you worried about your exam? B. Are you ready for your exam?
