【Teaching steps】
Step 1: Warm-up
Say “stand up” and have the children begin mving arund the rm.
Say, “Tiger” and have the children respnd by imitating a tiger with mvements and nises.
Repeat this fr ther animals learned in Unit 7. Have the children cntinue t mve arund the classrm.
Say’s it dwn” and hld up the flashcards fr each animal. Ask, “What is it?” and have the children respnd, “It’s a (tiger).”
Repeat fr all the wrds f animals.
Step 2: Preview
Hld up the flashcard fr square and have the children lk at it.
Repeat the step abve and present the new vcabulary.
Repeat the new wrds by hlding up different shapes and eliciting the wrds frm the children in a chral drill, and then frm individuals.
Step 3: Stry
Say,” Nw we are ging t hear what they said,” Have the class lk at the picture as yu play the tape.
Play the tape again and have the children repeat the wrds.
Step 4: Tuch and say
Attract their attentin.
Play the tape, and have the children pint t each picture as they hear the matching wrd.
Have the children wrk in pairs, taking turns t pint and say the wrds fr all the shapes.
Step 5: Hmewrk
