教学过程:
Step 1 导入:
复习前一节课所学的弱势群体的名称以及帮助他们的途径,然后过渡到新课,教师说: Thse deaf peple, blind peple and disabled peple need ur help. They have physical disabilities. Anther grup f peple need ur help t. They have intellectual disabilities. 板书 intellectual disabilities,并向学生解释其中文释义为“智障”
在听完部分学生的想法后,教师说:Besides what yu’ve mentined, there’s anther way t help them. We can vlunteer fr the Special Olympics Wrld Games.引出本板块的主题。教师板书 the Special Olympic Wrld Games, 问学生:The Special Olympic Games are different frm ther events, have yu heard f this event? Can yu tell me smething abut it? 如果学生对特奥会不了解,教师可以简单介绍。然后教师板书并且带读生词:athlete, adult, chance.教师接着问: If yu are a vlunteer, what will yu d fr the games?
Step 2 呈现:
教师呈现2007年上海特奥会的比赛图片,对学生说:Lk at the pictures carefully and answer my questins.让学生回答以下问题:
What events are included in the Special Olympic Wrld Games?
What d yu think f the athletes?
鼓励学生大胆回答,在问答中教师导入生词,如:Yes, sme events are similar t thse in the Olympics. Thse athletes are cnfident an d they achieve their dreams.通过一系列的问题,呈现生词和词组,如:similar t, cnfident, achieve等。教师板书生词并带读。
Step 3 阅读:
教师说: Tday we will read a reprt n the experience f a vlunteer.让学生快速阅读课文,并回答下列问题:
What is the name f the vlunteer?
What d vlunteers need t d fr the Special Olympics Wrld Games?
让学生分段阅读,归纳每段大意,完成B1部分的练习。
给出一定的时间限制,让学生进行细节阅读。逐一阅读课文的各个段落,并回答以下问题:

再次播放录音,让学生大声跟着读课文。
Step 4 操练:
完成B2部分的练习,全班核对答案。
男女生分角色朗读B2部分的对话,让学生用答案替换划线部分。
完成B3部分的练习,并更正错误。
在熟读课文的基础上,让学生完成B4部分的练习,核对答案后,学生角色朗读对话。
Step 5 家庭作业:
熟读课文,能力较强的学生背诵。
完成教师布置的相关作业。
