Activity 1

Show a clothes shop on the screen and introduce the names of clothes to the students.

T: What’s in the shop? Look, this is a T-shirt. That is a dress…

Activity 2

Put the wall picture of student’s book page 34 on the blackboard and ask the students some questions to give them the general idea of the new pattern.

T: Look at Danny. What is he wearing? He’s wearing a T-shirt. How about the T-shirt? Is it long or short?

T: Yes, it’s too short. So Danny says ‘I need a new T-shirt’.

Listen to the teacher.

S: Short.

这节课是一节联系生活实际的课。学生比较感兴趣，教师出示衣服商店的图片，给学生以一种亲切感。

出示课本上的人物来吸引学生的注意，一方面他们对于书上的人物比较熟悉，另外可以加深他们对课文的熟悉程度。

While-task procedure

Activity 1

Show the flashcards and read the words. Then have the students ask for the clothes, using the sentence patterns Give me … and I need …

Activity 2

Have the students repeat after the recording the sentences in ‘Look and say’ on student’s book page 34. Then have them practice these sentences in pairs.

Activity 3

Show some pictures of clothes on the screen and ask the students to choose the clothes they like or need. Then have them talk about the clothes.

Activity 4

Divide the class into pairs and have the students practice the dialogue on student’s book page 34. Then choose several pairs to act it out..

Activity 5

Have the students do part C ‘Listen and match’ on workbook page 35. check the answers. Then have the student do role-play.

S: I’m Alice. I need a blouse.

Need和want这个两个单词学生很容易混淆，通过图片的出示，让学生了解need是在什么样的情况下可以使用，让他们分清楚。

在这里要让学生区分like and need这又是两种不同情况下才能用的单词，学生很容易混淆，那么通过图片和对话的出示，让学生理解了去区别。

通过角色的分配演出，加深了学生对课文的理解与印象。

Post-task activities

Activity 1

Have the students do part A ‘Listen, number and colour’ on work book page 34. Then check the answers. Have the students do part B ‘Look and say’ on work book page 34 in groups.

Activity 2

Show different kinds of things, such as food and clothes, on the screen. Have the students choose the things they need. Then ask the students to practice in pairs talking about these things.

Have the students listen to and repeat the rhyme on student’s book page 36. Then have them practice the rhyme in groups.

Activity 3

Put the wall picture for ‘play a game’ on student’s book page 35 on the blackboard. Have the students make a short dialogue in pairs. Then choose several pairs to act it out.

Activity 4

Put the wall picture of student’s book page 37 on the blackboard. Elicit the dialogue by having the students listen to the recording. Help them understand the general meaning of the dialogue. Then model a dialogue to the class with a student. Have the students practice it in pairs. Choose several pairs to act it out.

Activity 5

Put some pictures of clothes on the blackboard. Have the students make a new dialogue in pairs.

听录音教学是比较简单的方法。可以让学生直接熟悉较佳的口音。

1、   注意中间的过渡和连接。

2、   注意发音的纠正。

游戏中学生的积极性有了 很大的提高。但是在过程中学生一般都只做出反应而没有通过跟读来加强练习。
