I. Warming- up and revisin
Play a game.
Task: Students’ activities Teacher’s activities
Game: thrw the ball while asking and answering the questin. In grups, ne student thrws the ball and asks: What’s this in English? The ther ne answers it ,then thrw the ball again. D this game first as an example. T: Hw d yu spell it? “P-E-N-C-I-L”.

Divide the class int Grup A and B. Draw tw baby birds n the blackbard as their symbls, tell the students that each time they answer questins right, they can get ne r mre pints fr their grup and draw ne r mre cluds belw their bird, at the end f the class, the grup which gets mre cluds will be the winner tday. Say, “One, tw, three!” Get the whle class sit straight, thus annunce the beginning f the cmpetitin

II. Presentatin
T: Bys and girls, let’s play a guessing game, “What’s in the bx?” OK? Cver ne student’s eyes with a clth and let him r her guess what it is.
Shw the students a bx by using the fllwing sentences:
What’s this in English? It’s a bx.. Is it a ruler? Yes, it is. N, it isn’t. It’s a pencil.
III. Questins and answers
What’s the date tday? What’s the weather like tday? What day is it tday? Write the answers n the blackbard.
IV.Wrk n 3 Practice the cnversatin.
Get the students t lk at the slides n the screen. First shw a picture f a dictinary. And ask “What’s this in English?” Students answer “It’s a pen.” Then the teacher asks “Hw d yu spell it?” students say “P---E---N. T: Is that yur dictinary? Ss: N, it isn’t. It is Tim’s dictinary. Shw mre slides like this. After the students are familiar with the sentence pattern, ask them t practice accrding t the sentences n the screen. This is a mechanical drilling. Cmpetitin between tw grups. See which grup can be the fastest ne t finish the task. D it like this. First ask them t practice with the deskmate. Then chse tw big grups and cmpete. The grup which can finish the dialgue within the shrtest time is the winner. Then the teacher will give them a pint.
