Unit 5 Why do you like pandasAnalysis of the Teaching Material 【Curriculum requirements】In this unit students will learn to describe animals and express preferences about the animals. Students will also learn to use the patterns “Why do you like …? Because they are…, Where are the lions from? They are from…”to talk about the animals. After learning the unit, students will get to know more about the animals and protect the animals around them.Analysis of the Teaching Material:This is the third period of the unit, in this class, students will learn to use the words like and don’t like to express the preference or dislike about the animals. We will continue describing the animals in details with “Wh-”questions.Teaching Aims and Demands Knowledge Objects:New expressions: like…a lot, black and white, be from/come from South Africa Sentences: Why do you like pandas? Because they are kind of interesting. Why does John like koalas? Because they’re very cute. Why don’t you like tigers? Because they’re really scary. Where are the lions from? They are from South Africa.Ability Objects:Students could have a further description of the animals and strengthen the ability to express the preference or the dislike about a certain animal.Moral Objects :Students will get to know more about the animals and learn to save and protect the animals around them.Teaching Key PointsAnd Teaching Difficult Points Teaching Key Points 1.
