    Unit 10 If you go to the party, you’ll have a great time教学目标: 一、        知识目标 1 能掌握以下单词和短语:travel, agent, be happy, travel around the world, go to college, make a lot of money, be famous, get an education2、能掌握以下句子:1) If you join the Lions, youll become a great soccer player.2) If you become a Lion, youll travel around the world.3) If you work really hard, youll be famous.4) If you become a soccer player, youll never go to college.5) If I dont do this now, Ill never do it.二、        能力目标培养学生如何诉说自己的困惑和不解; 如何就某一问题提出自己的建议或见解三、        情感目标让学生学会向别人倾诉来减轻自己的压力;学会如何委婉提出自己的建议或见解教学过程Step1:A Whole-class Survey  (1) Make a simple and quick survey. Students read the six things which are listed in 1a. Learn the phrase: around the world. Then teacher says, “boys and girls, if you think ‘happy’ is the most important thing, hands up.” The teacher counts and writes the number on the blackboard. Then like this survey the results of “go to college; be famous; travel around the world; make a lot of money and get an education”. (2) After the survey, the teacher should analyze the results guide the students in a person’s life what the most important thing is and how he or she could make the dream come true. (3) Then students make sentences like this: If I go to college, I’ll get a good education. Record the marks which each group gets.Step 2:Listening (1) Listen, put an “A” before each thing in 1a that the soccer agent (Learn the word) talks about and write a letter “P” before each thing Michael’s parents talk about. Then check the answers. (2) Students read the listening material in 2b, and try to complete the sentences before listening. Listen and check the answers. (3) Listen again and pay attention to the different intonations between the soccer agent and Michael’s parents. And then think why they use this kind of intonation.   Students say something freely.  The teacher may say, “The agent wants Michael to join the Lions, so his words and voice must be inciting. While for Michael’s parents, the future of their son is the most important thing, so their intonations seem low and deep. Boys and girls, Michael’s parents are just like your parents. Understand your parents, can you?”Step 3:Reading  (1) Pre-reading Go on talking about Michael. Discuss “If he becomes an athlete, will he be happy?”Ask students to say something to support his or her idea.(2) While-reading  ① Students read this article and find out the reasons for becoming a professional athlete and the reasons against becoming a professional athlete. (Learn the word “against”) ② The teacher walks around and guides the students to understand the article correctly.The students may ask questions about the following language points:A: …becoming a professional athlete might seem like a dream job.B: … you’ll be able to make a living doing something (you love).C: This is a great chance (that many people do not have).D: And if you become rich, you will have a different time knowing who your real friends are.③ Read again and find out the structure of this passage. Students read and find out the topic sentence in Paragraph 1; Answer “What’s the use of Paragraph 2?” Students read and find out what Paragraph 3 is about.④ Retell the main idea of the passage. Check in groups.(3) Writing Teacher: Suppose you are Michael; write a letter to the soccer team agent Mr. Brown. Decide if you join the Lions or not. Give students five minutes to write a short letter and then share their letters with their partners. If time permitted, individual students may read their works in class. 教后记:
