    run ut f = use up “用完、耗尽 ”,句子的主语只能是人。注意不能用于被动语态。 He ran ut f gas a mile frm hme. 他在离家还有一英里的地方把汽油用完了。 We are running ut f the gas. 我们的汽油快用完了。
    run ut是动副型短语动词,相当于不及物动词,表示“被用完了”的被动含义,其主语通常是时间、金钱、食物等无生命名词。 His mney sn ran ut.  他的钱很快就花完了。 Fd supplies had run ut twards the end f the trip.  在旅行快结束时,食物已经吃完了。

    fix up 1. 修理 Can yu fix up my radi? 你能把我的收音机修好吗?2. 安排, 确定 We have fixed up a trip. 我们已安排一次旅行。 We were fixed up fr the night in a hstel. 我们被安顿在招待所过夜。
    fix / repair / mendfix, repair与mend都有“修理;修补”之意,有时可以通用,但也有区别。(1)fix与repair都表示使受到一定损坏或失灵的东西恢复其性能或机能,其对象范围很广,从道路、机器到日常用品等。(2)mend常表示修补破损的东西,使其恢复原样,一般指较小的物品。如: mend the shes / the windws 等。

    take after (由于血缘关系而在外貌、性格等方面)相似 She tk after her mther almst in everything. 她几乎与她母亲一模一样。 Margaret takes after her father in being strng-willed. 玛格丽特意志坚强, 像她父亲。
