Step 1: Warm-up

Ask the students the following questions

① Have you seen robots in the films?

② What kind of robots do you know?

③ Do you like robots? Why?

④ What do you think robots can do for you?

⑤ Would you buy a robot in the future? Why?

Step 2: welcome to the unit

1， Ask one student to read the  phrases in the word box at the top of page 23.

2.Explain the context. Daniel is explaining to Amy what robots can do. Ask students to complete the conversation on Page 23 on their own.             

3, read the conversation and check mistakes Make sure that all students  understand the meanings of the phrases

4 Encourage students to talk about if robots are harmful?

5,Divide students into groups to discuss:

①What do robot s do harm to human beings? 

② Why do they do harm to human beings? Understand the bad points of the robots

Step 3.Comic strips

1. 学生们抱怨教师太多的作业。 

The students complain the teacher a bout too much homework. 

Let the Ss learn the grammar of the words: complain, need and help.

1. complaint: 不+可数名词“抱怨”；可数名词“抱怨的行动或话，投诉”   

complain: 动词：complain to sb about sth。 

2，need :(1)情态动词，往往用于否定形式，eg,You needn't hand in the homework after class.(2)行为动词，后面跟不定式， eg ,The children need to work hard at school.我需要向机器人商店投诉。(1)I need to complain to the robot shop.(2)Must I finsih the homework? No,You _________.             

3,help:(1)help sb (to)do sth.(2) help sb with sth 

(1)We often help the old clean the room.

(2) Tom often helps me with English. 

 问题设置的层次由一般疑问句向特殊疑问句过度更好。

词汇的初始记忆效果很好，应留有适当的时间

鼓励学生多读多理解

Encourage them to speak aloud .
