Step1:Lead in 1It started to rain when we were at the park.
2The telephone rang while the girl was doing her homework.
3Don’t forget to turn off all the lights before you leave the house.
4I will not start to cook dinner until you come back from work.
5All the boys rushed out of the classroom as soon as the bell rang.
Let the students read the sentences and translate them into Chinese and tell them they are time clauses.The conjunctions are :when,while,before ,until and as soon as. Encourage the students to say out the others.For example,after,till,since,whenever.
Step2:presentation Choose some students to read the sentences in the book and tell them the difference. When 引导的时间状语从句中可使用短暂性动词和延续性动词。 While 引导的时间状语从句中只可以使用延续性动词。 Let the students finish the exercises at page 54 and check the answers. Explanations:since 引导的时间状语从句中通常使用一般过去时,而主句一般使用现在完成时。Till不能用于句首也不能用于not、、until中的until. Let the students finish the exercises at page 55 and help the students understand the meanings of ‘as soon as’and’whenever’.
Step3:activities Group the students into a team of four and discuss the topic:school rules .And ask the students to use the conjunctions in this lesson.
1We have to get back to our seats as soon as the bell rings.
2We should not make any noise when the teacher is sleeping. 3We should say hello to the teachers when we meet them.
4We must turn off our mobile phones before we enter the school.
5We cannot talk to each other in class until the teacher asks us to.
Step4:Homework Translations: 1自从他搬了这里以来,他已经交了很多朋友。
2当他在吃晚饭时,他的朋友来了。
3直到你学了物理,你才知道它有多有用。
4请你一到办公室就给经理打电话。
5无论我什么时候经过他们的房间,他们总是吵吵闹闹的。 |
