    It’s special because Christa aged 37, an rdinary teacher and mther, was abut t becme the 1st civilian in space.
    She planned t give tw 15-minute lessns frm rbit the first t demnstrate the cntrls f the spacecraft and explain hw gravity wrked, and the 2nd t describe the bjectives f the Challenger prgram.
    Space shuttle flights were suspended fr nearly three years while the cause f the disaster was investigated, and sme f the shuttle’s cmpnents were resigned.
    Discvery fllwed the Challenger, and was launched n 29 September 1988.

    Befre the disaster peple felt ptimistic and excited. And after the disaster peple felt shcked and terrified. The evidence is that the wrld went int shck, mst peple having assumed that this space flight wuld be n mre dangerus than travelling in an aerplane. Instantaneusly, excitement and ptimism tuned int terrr and failure. It was the mst disastrus space accident ever, and it cast a shadw n peple’s hearts.
