Words and Expressions
一、教材分析
本教学设计针对《英语新标准》(一年级起点)五年级上册的四会单词和重要语境单词及表达做出复习。结合孩子对各个模块的单词、短语的掌握程度拓展学生的视野,利用情景唤起学生的记忆,激发起学生语言输入和输出的热情。
二、学情分析
经过四年级英语学习的过渡,绝大多数五年级的小学生对英语学习有了深入的认识和理解。随着对学生学习要求的不断提高,部分孩子开始会产生畏难情绪。课堂中想法不确定的时候不敢举手大胆表达。所以如何保持、激发学生的学习兴趣,自信地进行英语语言表达,克服单词及语篇学习的枯燥性是提高教学质量的关键。
三、设计理念
根据新课标理念,以人为本,面向全体,以及英语学习的人文性及公共性的特点,让学生通过感知,体验,实践,参与,合作,交流来实现任务目标;在师生地位方面,教师在整个活动中只起一个组织者,指导者,参与者的作用,营造浓厚的英语氛围,激发学生的兴趣,引导学生乐于开口说英语,留出足够的时间和空间给学生,鼓励学生用中学,学中用,学以致用。增强学生自主学习能力和合作探究能力。
四、教学目标
(一)语言知识
(1)词汇:全体学生能掌握并运用M1-10四会单词和重要语境单词。
(2)语法:全体学生根据相关话题尽量用教材的相关表达来进行语言输出。
(3)语音:进一步强化已学语音。
(二)语言技能:全体学生能够听懂、会说功能句。
(三)情感态度:让孩子在情景中体味学习英语的乐趣,提高对英语的兴趣。
(四)文化意识:树立正确的爱国主义价值观,既不崇洋媚外,又不盲目排斥。对于外国的文化有选择的吸收,要取其精华,去其糟粕,兼容并包,博采众长。放眼全球,科技发展使地球变成“地球村”,生活在同一个地球中的我们应该守护好共同的地球家园。

Words cards, PPT, old books, decorations, pictures.
六、教学过程
I. Lead-in and Warm-up:
1. Greeting.
2. Sing a song: “If you’re happy and you know it.”
3. Watch and Answer:
Watch the short movie We love the earth.
Then answer ‘what did the boy find?’
S: He found a book.
4. About the book: This is a magic book. The name of the book is Eyes of the earth. There are four chapters of it.
[设计意图:通过英文歌曲热身,带学生进入活跃愉快的课堂氛围。观看We love the earth的短视频,引出今天要学习的这本魔法书,并勾起学生们对书中四章内容的好奇。]
II. Task Presentation:
Today, we are going to review the words and expressions in the first term at Grade 5 of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Version in this magic book.
[设计意图:明确本课学习的任务,通过学习一本魔法书来复习外研版五年级上册的四会单词和重要的语境单词及表达。(日常分组group A和group B)]
III. Topic Learning:
Chapter I. The Schools
First topic, let's talk about schools in England and China.
- Review the words from (M1、M5、M7、M8、M10):
often, half, study, open, clean, kind, for, then, playground... ...
1) Game 1: These are English children and Chinese children. They are very happy to make friends with you. Can you call their names and see which group is quickly and correctly.
[设计意图:(情景:A组英国学生围成一圈around,B组中国学生站成一队stand in line。他们非常高兴和大华五年级的同学们交朋友,那么你们愿意喊出他们的名字吗?规则:一人触发单词看看A、B两组谁说的又快又准。)设计情景复习单词,利用小朋友喜欢交朋友特点拉近学生与枯燥的单词之间的距离,激发孩子们的参与热情。通过此方式快速唤起全班孩子对单词的记忆,达到对三个模块单词的复习效果。]
2) Game 2: Make a sentence or Say the meaning of these words.
S1: I often... ... What’s the name? S2:often
[设计意图:(规则:同学1 可以说出一个句子,句子中含有大屏幕上的名字(单词),或者说出一个大屏幕中任一个名字(单词)的英语意思,另一个同学猜出这个名字(单词)。)利用学生造句和说单词意思进一步巩固学生对单词意思的掌握。两个活动的设计从音形义的角度对三个模块的单词进行复习。]
3) Free Talk:I think you are good friends now.
They want to know how is your school day?
[设计意图:说说我们中国学生自己的学习生活,为了引出英国学生Jamie在学校的生活。]

This is Jamie. He is from England. Let’s see the school day in England.
1) Fill in the blanks:(Please take out your ipad.)
Hi, I'm Jamie. I’m 11 years old. I live in England. This is my school day. We often wear a school uniform. School starts at 8:50 with class registration (点名). We study very hard.
Now, it's assembly(召集). We should open our books and stand quietly. Lesson one starts at half past nine (9:30). Then it's Art. We should tidy up our paintings. It's time for break. It's 10:30. It's break time. I play games with my friends on the playground. We will have fun.
[设计意图:通过看视频了解英国孩子在学校一天的真实生活,直观形象的拓展了了解英国学生与中国学生学校生活的不同。通过单词填空的练习,在平板的辅助下,加深学生对五年级上册八模块课文中单词的巩固,增强学生自主学习能力,更好的达到复习的效果。学生对平板的运用和白板拖拽功能的熟练使用,良好的信息化技术在课堂中的应用。]
2) Answer the Question:

3) Free Talk: According to the video, Can you say the differences between the schools in England and China? Ss:.. ...
We know many differences such as the schedule and subjects.
Even though, we are different. We still enjoy our school life.
[设计意图:通过问题让学生们对中英学校不同有一个系统地回顾。]
3. Compare the differences: 复习M1场景变化
Please look at our school now and the old pictures before. Then, tell the differences with these sentences.

5) Activity ①: Our TV show巩固M7部分单词
We didn’t have broadcast station before. But now we have a lot more activities, such as Mei Mei Xiao Hua TV show.

6)Activity ②: Introduce loving book store.
We can sell old books here. We can put the money inside the boxes.
I bought some books. Can you guess, how much do they cost?

[设计意图:出示大华小学新旧对比的照片以及相关单词playground, benches,引导学生用给出的句型结构说出学校的今夕不同。请学生说出类似的例子比如:students, building... ...另外拓展美美小华和爱心义卖两个活动,从美美小华电台的介绍中巩固单词,从义卖这样生活化的情景中复习单词及物品所属。]
4. Free Talk: Class Rules 巩固M10谈论班级规则
Our school is becoming better. If you love our school you should obey our school rules. Then, how can you do for our school. What should you do or what shouldn’t you do in the class?
1) Free Talk: Can you say a school rule of our school?
2) Say a school rule according to the pictures.
①You shouldn’t be late.
②You should be kind.
③You should bring your books to class.
④You should be helpful.
⑤You should clean the classroom.

Chapter II. Festivals
- Review the words from: (M2、M3、M4): heavy, let, sometimes, give, night, stories, from, to, whose, worker... ...
Game: Let's light the pumpkins. Please stand up quickly and say the words loudly.
[设计意图:老师点亮南瓜灯,学生起立抢读。既活跃课堂气氛又达到对单词的音和形复习的效果。]
- Western festivals:
1)Riddles: Christmas/ Thanksgiving Day
2)Pair Work: Halloween and Easter
Please come here and choose pictures and decorations to describe Halloween and Easter. 复习M3万圣节和复活节相关单词

- Chinese festivals:
Free Talk: What’s your favorite Chinese festival?
[设计意图:引导学生对更多中国节日进行描述。通过强化对中国节日的重要引导孩子们更多的了解并喜爱中国节日。]
- Group Work:Make a newspaper
Please make a newspaper about your favorite festivals in your group.
Take out your ipad and search on the internet.
Please choose one from the table(western festivals,Chinese festivals,international festivals).

[设计意图:小组合作做出一张你最喜欢节日的小报并进行展示介绍,从桌上给出的中国、外国、国际节日的节日素材节日中选择一个制作(每组抽到的节日不同)。做报纸过程中利用iPad在网上查阅资料,最大化的使用信息设备多渠道的拓展学生知识广度,在小组合作中增强小组合作探究能力。展示两组成果Children’s Day, Dragon Boat Festival充分发挥学生的主体作用,让学生真正成为课堂的主人。]
Chapter III. Movies
1.Review the words from (M6、M7、M9): heavy, let, sometimes, give, night, stories, from, to, whose, worker...
Game: Sweep the bombs.
This is a famous film in China. I’m a fan of it.
[设计意图:(规则:两组各派一人触摸单词并计时,哪组快则哪组获胜。教师出示单词卡片,A组组员大声反馈传声,B组派一人引爆地雷,A组派一人计时...)。从抗战老片地雷战导入扫雷游戏,通过我国英雄事迹激发学生的爱国情怀。]
2.Compare now and before: 巩固M6谈论能力的单词
I’m still a fan of superman. Because they have super power.
1)This is flash. He is one of my favourite superman. He can run fast.
But he was a weak boy years before. He couldn’t run fast before.
2)The Spider man: He can jump high.
He couldn’t jump high before.
3)My idol Kobe is so cool. He can play basketball well.

[设计意图:闪电侠和蜘蛛侠是超级英雄,科比是篮球巨星,他们都是小学生熟知且喜爱的人物,他们在各个领域的能力极易引起小学生的兴趣,符合五年级孩子的年龄特点,拉近与他们的心里距离更容易达到复习效果。]
3.Free Talk:What do you think of dogs? 复习M7动物能力的单词
This is a warm-hearted movie. It’s about a dog. The dog in this film is lovely and loyal.
Next we will see some special dogs. They are helpful. They can help people.
1)The dogs can help the workers.
2)The dogs can find the people in the fire. They can help the firefighters.
3)The dogs can help blind people.
[设计意图:通过几种犬型-雪橇犬、搜救犬、导盲犬的特殊功能,判断它们代替了哪种职业。说明狗是人类的好朋友,激发学生对动物的爱心。]
4.Watch a short movie:

IV. Summary and Homework:
Today we review the words and expressions in the book.
Chapter1. We talked about school cultures.
Chapter2. We talked about Chinese festivals, western festivals and international festivals.
Chapter3. We talked about characters in movies.
Chapter4. Next class, we are going to learn this chapter protect the earth. Please review the words in the book.
