Helen Keller Dies at 88
Helen Keller, the well-knwn writer and educatr, died yesterday at the age f 88. Helen Keller was a mdel fr peple arund the wrld.Helen was brn in 1880 in the United States. When she was nineteen mnths ld, Helen fell ill. She had a high fever that made her blind and deaf. Befre her illness, Helen had been a bright and happy girl. After she lst her ability t see and hear, she became difficult and wild. She ften shuted and cried.
In 1887, a yung teacher named Anne Sullivan, began t help Helen. She spelled wrds n Helen’s hand with her fingers. At first, the wrds didn’t mean anything t Helen. Then, ne day, Helen was playing in sme water. Anne Sullivan spelled W-A-T-E-R nt Helen’s hand. Suddenly, Helen understd. That day, she learned many mre wrds: mther, father, sister and teacher.
As Helen grew lder, she made a lt f prgress and learned t read. She had special bks with letters that she culd feel with her fingers. She als learned t write and even speak. When Helen studied at university, Anne sat beside her. She listened t the prfessrs’ wrds, and spelled them n Helen’s hand.
After Helen finished university, she visited many cuntries. She spke abut her life. She was very famus fr her curage and hard wrk. She did her best t help ther in the cmmunity wh were deaf r blind. She tried t live her life withut any regret.She will be greatly missed.
