It’s Dickens’s mst ppular nvels and was his wn “favrite child.” The wrk is semiautbigraphical, Dickens related early persnal experiences that had meant much t him—his wrk in a factry, his schling and reading, and his emergence frm parliamentary (议会的) reprting int successful nvel writing.
Oliver Twist is abut a by named Oliver Twist, wh escapes frm an rphanage (孤儿院) and meets a gang f pickpckets (扒手) in Lndn. The nvel is ne f Dickens’s mst well-knwn wrks, and has been the subject f numerus film and televisin adaptatins (改编).

The secnd excerpt makes me feel like reading the whle bk because I think the language the authr uses is simple but beautiful. I particularly like her descriptin f the sky keeping us safe when we are sad.
What is yur favrite wrk f literature? Why?
brn February 7, 1812, Prtsmuth, Hampshire, England—died June 9, 1870, Gad’s Hill, near Chatham, Kent, English nvelist, generally cnsidered the greatest f the Victrian era. His ppular wrks are: A Christmas Carl, David Cpperfield, Bleak Huse, A Tale f Tw Cities, Great Expectatins, and Our Mutual Friend.
Of the many wrks f literature I have read, my favrite is The Gadfly by the Irish writer Ethel Vynich. The stry takes place during a revlutin in Italy in the 19th century. Thrugh a series f exciting events, the her, Arthur Burtn, cmes t terms with his identity and becmes a true revlutinary. This bk is an amazing cming-f-age stry that mved me deeply, and I wuld recmmend it t anyne.
What is the imprtance f literature and its impact n sciety?
“Literature adds t reality, it des nt simply describe it. It enriches the necessary cmpetencies that daily life requires and prvides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that ur lives have already becme.” —C.S. Lewis, British schlar and nvelist
Why shuld we read?Reading literature exercises the imaginatin.Reading literature transprts us ut f ur current cntext and int ther ages and places.Reading literature enables us t see the wrld thrugh the eyes f thers.Reading literature helps us t knw urselves—in shrt, t understand man.
    Mind map f Literature
It was the best f times, it was the wrst f times, it was the age f wisdm, it was the age f flishness, it was the epch f belief, it was the epch f incredulity, it was the seasn f Light, it was the seasn f Darkness, it was the spring f hpe, it was the winter f despair.—— Charles Dickens
