The mucus cats the eyes surface and helps t stick the film t the eye, the water is a natural salty slutin cntaining prteins (蛋白质) and minerals，and the il prevents the eye frm drying ut.
Humans are the nly knwn species t prduce emtinal tears; the expressin “crcdile tears”, which refers t a persn’s false emtin, cmes frm the tendency f crcdiles t release tears as they eat.
