    This perid includes Warming up,Reading and Cmprehending f Unit 2.It intrduces the similarities and differences between ancient and mdern Olympic Games in the
    frm f a interesting interview between Pausanias,a Greek writer 2000 years ag and Lily,a Chinese girl living at the present time.Reading the passage,the students can learn sme reading strategies such as skimming and cmparing.
    Teaching Aims:
    1.Enable the students t cmpare the ancient Olympics with the mdern nes and try t answer the questins quickly and crrectly s that they learn hw t generalize and cmpare the similarities and differences.
    2.Learn sme useful wrds and expressins:medal,gymnasium,stadium,admit,take part in,replace,prize,a set f,interview,as well as,cmpete with/against/fr,replace,etc.
    3.Learn sme sentence patterns:
    (1)I lived what yu called“Ancient Greece”.
    (2)I have cme t yur time t find ut abut the present day Olympic Games because I knw they are t be held in my hmetwn f Athens.
