Since then, the prject has prvided mney fr 10day leadership trips t 57 highperfrming high schl students thrughut underserved cmmunities in Miami. All 57 have gtten int clleges arund the cuntry, and ver 90 percent have received full schlarships t cllege. Nyah fellws have travelled t cuntries including Indnesia,Namibia,Csta Rica and Suth Africa.
The trips bring cultural exchange pprtunities,like learning abut traditinal Balinese dance in Indnesia and teaching yunger students in Namibia. Kemni Alexander,wh is studying at Ohi Wesleyan University, was a Nyah fellw in 2017, and travelled t Namibia and Suth Africa fr her first time ut f the cuntry.
“The neighbrhd that I grew up in wasn't the mst resurceful and my schls were shrt f mney,”said Alexander.“I culd hardly believe that I was able t have that pprtunity because ther peple saw that ptential (潜力) in me and believed in me.”
