(2021·贵州思南中学高二上期中)Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best. For example,to absorb heat from the sun to heat water, you need large, flat and black surfaces. One way to do that is to build those surfaces specially, on the roofs of buildings. But why go to all that trouble when cities are full of black surfaces already, in the form of asphalt (柏油) roads?
Ten years ago, this thought came into the mind of Arian de Bondt, a Dutch engineer. He finally persuaded his boss to follow it up. The result is that their building is now heated in winter and cooled in summer by a system that relies on the surface of the road outside.
The heatcollector is a system of connected water pipes. Most of them run from one side of the street to the other, just under the asphalt roads. Some, however, dive deep into the ground.
When the street surface gets hot in summer, water pumped through the pipes picks up this heat and takes it underground through one of the diving pipes. At a depth of 100 metres lies a natural aquifer(含水层) into which several heat exchangers (交换器) have been built. The hot water from the street runs through these exchangers, warming the groundwater, before returning to the surface through another pipe. The aquifer is thus used as a heat store.
In winter, the working system is changed slightly. Water is pumped through the heat exchangers to pick up the heat stored during summer. This water goes into the building and is used to warm the place up. After performing that task, it is pumped under the asphalt and its remaining heat keeps the road free of snow and ice.

(2021·河南平顶山期末)Natural disasters come without warning, and this underlines the need for disaster management.Natural disasters may cause death or damage crops and property without warning. Emergency management can reduce the damage and save more lives than if there are no systems set up for disaster security (安全).
There are steps to take when you plan for a natural disaster. Here's a list of some of them:
1.Ask your local Red Cross or emergency management office for reminders of disasters and emergency management steps. 16 You may also request a list of emergency management steps that should be done in each type of disaster.
2.Each community has its own set of emergency signals. 17 Knowing what to do at once gives you a head start in any emergency.
3. 18 Include discussions on what is likely to happen and what should be done in such cases. Plan how each one of you will react and what are the responsibilities of each one, in order to be able to work as a team.
4.Set a meeting place in case of a natural disaster. It should be one within the vicinity (附近) of your workplace or home, and one outside your immediate vicinity. 19 Agree on an emergency telephone that everyone should try to call.
5.Prepare a disaster supply toolbox. Stock it with first aid supplies. 20 Prepare emergency lights like flashlights with batteries. Include a batterypowered radio in the kit so you can listen to updates.
A.Find out what they sound like and what they mean.
B.Discuss the dangers of different types of natural disasters.
C.Try to understand why these signals sound unfamiliar to you.
D.Everyone should try to reach it when a natural disaster happens.
E.Prepare some water and food that should be enough for three days.
F.Find out any disaster management plan that your community has.
G.This is also the best time to ask what kinds of disasters may likely take place.

2012 is a disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. The film stars are John Cusack,Chiwetel Ejiofor,Amanda Peet,Oliver Platt,Danny Glover,Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson.
The film tells of how the main characters survive the human catastrophe caused by unusual sun activity.Jackson, good at writing novels, experiences a series of strange things with his children in Yellowstone Park.At last Jackson and his family go through the difficulty with love for each other and respect for life.
I think it is one of the most satisfactory films of the year and it really can be called the “mother of all disaster movies”.From it we learn that human beings should take measures to protect our earth. If not, such a catastrophe might come in the future.
第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
It was shortly after one o'clock in the morning and Mr Fairfax was really tired. He had been driving for over five hours, heading for a small town far away from home. The weather was clear but it was dark and Mr Fairfax could not find a motel to spend the night.Completely exhausted,he decided to stop by the roadside for a few hours' sleep at the wheel of his car.He fell asleep almost the moment he closed his eyes. But soon he was awakened by a man tapping on the car window.“I say,you don't happen to know the time,do you?” the stranger asked.
Mr Fairfax wound down the window and thrust his head out.“It's around one o'clock,”he answered. Then he wound up his window and soon fell back into a deep slumber.
Half an hour later, another guy came up and knocked on his window who also inquired about the time.Once again,Mr Fairfax gathered his thoughts and told him that it was just after one thirty.
When the same thing happened yet again,Mr Fairfax became increasingly irritated.Sleepdeprived,he began to raise his voice at the passerby:“It's two o'clock,God damn it!And why can't you get yourself a watch like the rest of us?”
This time when he was winding up the window,Mr Fairfax figured out how to make sure no one else disturbed him.He found some paper and a pencil and wrote a note that he placed on the windscreen of his car.It said:“I don't know what time it is!” Amused by his good idea,he happily drifted off back to sleep again.
Not long afterwards, the note was spotted by a policeman on his night patrol.Intent on fulfilling his duty to assist motorists,he tapped on Mr Fairfax's car window.
“Well, sir,” the policeman said.“Now it is five past three!”
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
“For the sake of God!”With a loud noise of fist hitting the wheel, the car window was wound down.
“I'm sorry Mister, but I think sleeping in the car by the roadside is not a good choice,”said the police.

“I'm sorry Mister, but I think sleeping in the car by the roadside is not a good choice,” said the police.“You think?” Mr Fairfax was still angry.“Yeah,so I was thinking you may spend the rest of the night in my office. It's not far from here by the way.”“Well,” Mr Fairfax started to feel uneasy.“I have to say thanks a lot, really. And I'm also sorry for the rudeness just now.”“Oh,that's OK.But I'm afraid you have to pay a fine of $10 for parking by the roadside,” the police wrote a ticket with a tricky smile.
