wrth 意为“值……的，有……的价值的”等，常常用
作形容词，在句中一般做表语，有时也可用作定语，如：a placewrth seeing (值得一看的地方)，a dictinary wrth $50 (一本价值
50 美元的词典)等。
wrth 用作表语时，不能单独使用，其后
通常接动词-ing 形式，而不能接动词不定式。
(1)“主语＋be＋wrth＋动词-ing 形式...”，此时，
句子的主语就是 wrth 之后动词-ing 形式的逻辑宾语。wrth 后面的动词-ing 形式一般用主动形式表示被动意义，而不能直接
Nw Jhn is wrth talking t.现在值得与约翰谈一谈。He isn't wrth getting angry with.犯不上跟他生气。(2)“It (形式主语)＋be＋wrth＋动词-ing 形式＋其他”。如：It isn't wrth repairing the bike.这辆自行车不值得修理了。Is it wrth visiting the city? 这个城市值得参观吗？
(3)一般来说，wrth 前面可用 well, really, very much, hardly,
easily 等词语修饰，但一般不用 very 修饰。
This is really wrth ding.这确实值得一做。He has smething very much wrth saying.他有些话很值得讲。
语 法1．be suppsed t
be suppsed t 的意思是“应该做某事，被期望做某
事”。关于这个短语的基本用法，需要从以下几个方面来掌握。(1)当句子的主语是人时，be suppsed t 用来表示劝告、建议、义务和责任等。如：Yu are suppsed t ask ur teacher if yu want t leave theclassrm.如果你要离开教室，应该先问一问我们的老师。
(2)当句子的主语是物时，be suppsed t 用来表示某事物本
应该发生而没有发生。如：
The meeting was suppsed t take place n Tuesday, but we
have t put it ff.这个会议本应该在星期二举行，但我们不得不把它推迟了。
(3)be suppsed t 的否定形式为 be nt suppsed t d，意为
“不应该做某事”，表示命令和禁止。如：
Yu are nt suppsed t talk ludly in class.你不应该在课堂
Yu are nt suppsed t smke n the bus.你不应该在公共汽
2．be expected t d 的用法
be expected t d 为被动语态的结构，意为“被期许
(预期)会做某事 ”。如：Jhn is expected t cme t the party tday.约翰应该会出席今晚的宴会。He is expected t d well in the test.他被期许在考试中得到好成绩。
3．It is＋adj.＋t d
It is ＋adj.＋t d 表示“做某事……”。如：
It's very imprtant t study English well.学好英语很重要。(1)若形容词是描述行为者的性格、品质的，如 kind, gd,nice, right, wrng, clever, careless, plite, flish 等时，用 It's＋adj.＋f sb.t d sth.。如：It's very kind f yu t help me.你能帮我，真好。It's clever f yu t wrk ut the maths prblem.你真聪明，解出了这道数学题。
