Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains .
英语里的书面表达,顾名思义,就是根据内容提示,围绕话题和中心,用语言来“达意”。它本身并不困难,但要顺利的完成必须要经历“读懂题意——分析后确定人称和时态——写出关键词——连词成句——检查、完善”这样一个过程,很多同学在第一步或者第二步就“卡”住了,以至于后面就无法进行了。有的同学好不容易进入第三步了,可是由于平时的基础弱,单词不会写,短语不会用,所以又“无从下笔”了。在第四步的时候,由于对句子结构、语法等不太熟悉,导致写的句子不成句子,或者不能“达意”。偶有进入最后一关的,由于平时积累的句子比较少,不会使用关联词和优美的句子,也使得文章空空动动,没有亮色。为了解决大家的实际问题,今天,我就来给大家讲一讲八年级下册英语书面表达如何突破。
以人教版英语八年级下册第六单元为例,这个单元的标题是:Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains .中文意思是:“一个老人尽力移山”,实际上就是我们常说的“愚公移山”的故事。书面表达,是要围绕一定话题进行的,而这个“话题”,一般都会在标题中折射出来。从标题以及这个单元的教学内容可以看出,本单元的写作要体现一般过去时,另外,要通过故事给人以启迪。所以,这个单元既要积累短语和句型,还要复习巩固一般过去时的用法,学会正确运用。
假设这个单元学完以后,要求同学们将愚公移山的故事写成一篇文章并写一写:从这个故事中你学到了什么?
为了完成这篇书面表达,我们先积累素材。在本单元的第一页,主要以“愚公移山”的故事为话题,介绍了故事的起因、经过等,我们要积累一些句子,例如:
1、The two mountains were very high and big.(两座山又高又大。)
这句话也可以用我们学过的there be 句型来表达,此时的be动词,要改成过去式were.
There were two high and big mountains in front of Yugong’s house.(愚公家门前有两座又高又大的山。)
2、A very old man tried to move the mountains.(一个老人尽力移山。)
3、A man told Yugong that he could never do it.(一个男的告诉愚公他绝不可能办得到。)
在本单元第二页的听力训练、对话部分,也有一些用于书面表达的句子,可以为书面表达“锦上添花”,它们是:
1、A man saw Yugong and his family when they were working on moving the mountains.(一个男人看见愚公和他的家人忙着移山。)
2、He told Yugong that he could never do it because he was old and weak.(他告诉愚公他肯定不会成功因为他又老又虚弱。)
3、As soon as the man finished talking , Yugong said his family could continue to move the mountains after he died.(这个男人刚说完,愚公就接着说他死后他的家人可以继续移山。)
4、Finally , a god was so moved by Yugong that he sent two gods to take the mountains away.(最后,一个神仙被愚公感动了,他派了两个神来把山移走了。)
5、This story reminds us that you can never know what’s possible unless you tried to make it happen.(这个故事提醒我们:你绝不会知道什么是有可能的,除非你尽力去让它发生。)
6、But the story is trying to show us that anything is possible if you work hard. (这个故事尽力告诉我们:如果你尽力的话,一切皆有可能。)
7、I think we should try to find other ways to solve a problem.(我认为我们应该尽力找到别的方法去解决问题。)
8、There are many sides to a story and many ways to understand it.(一个故事有很多方面,也可以从很多方面去理解它。)
另外,在43页的reading、语法、听力训练和长文章(Reading)中也有一些书面表达会用到的句子,可以积累一下。

有了这些前期准备工作以后,我们就可以进行刚才那篇书面表达了。
解题思路:
第一步,根据提示,判断人称、时态。(第三人称,一般过去时)
第二步,讲故事按照起因、经过、结果,简单地罗列一下。
1、一座大山挡住了愚公一家。(there be句型 , big and high mountains, in front of)
2、愚公决定和家人一起移山。(decide to do sth , move the mountains )
3、一个叫做“智叟”的男人看见愚公和他的家人忙着移山。
(a man called Zhisou , see sb. doing sth. work on moving the mountains)
4、他告诉愚公他肯定不会成功因为他又老又虚弱。(be successful , old and weak )
5、但是愚公没有放弃,他继续移山。(give up , go on doing sth. move the mountains)
6、最后,神感动了,派了两个神仙来帮愚公移山。(be moved, send... to... , help Yugong move the mountains)
7、这个故事告诉我们:绝不放弃,你有一天就会成功。(tell us , give up , be successful)
第三步,根据罗列的内容,连词成句,并且注意主谓一致以及时态的正确运用。
1、There were two high and big mountains in front of Yugong’s house.
2、Yugong and his families decidecd to move the mountains.
3、A man saw Yugong and his family when they were working on moving the mountains.
4、He told Yugong that he could never do it because he was old and weak.
5、But Yugong didn’t give up , he went on moving the mountains.
6、Finally , a god was so moved by Yugong that he sent two gods to take the mountains away.
7、This story told us that “Never give up , and you will be successful.”
第四步,检查、修改。
Once upon a time ,there were two high and big mountains in front of Yugong’s house. It took a long time for Yugong and his family to walk to the other side. So Yugong and his families decidecd to move the mountains.A man saw Yugong and his family when they were working on moving the mountains.He told Yugong that he could never do it because he was old and weak.But Yugong didn’t give up , he went on moving the mountains.Finally , a god was so moved by Yugong that he sent two gods to take the mountains away.
This story told us that “Never give up , and you will be successful.”
