(1) Tell students to read the article and answer the question: In which country is it OK to be 15 minutes late for dinner? Students read the article quickly and try to find the answer to the question. (2) Method guidance: First of all, quickly browse the original material, master the theme of the full text. Quickly read the full text, grasp the central theme is necessary, in the process of quick reading, should capture as much information materials as possible. Secondly, with the problem, and then go back to the original text to find and capture the relevant information. The essentials to do this kind of problem well are: 1). Also,we never visit a friend’s house without calling first. 双重否定句。never和without都表示否定,合在一起表达肯定意义,“一定会”。 e.g. You will hardly ever be able to speak good English without practicing. 你不练习几乎是不可能把英语学好的。 (以上1-5在3a阅读里讲解) 6.supposed 与 think 的含义相同,“认为,以为”。 be supposed 表示“被期望或要求应该”,在口语中,意为“不容许,不应当”。 e.g. You are supposed to arrive on time. 你应该按时到达。 句式: 1)肯定句:be supposed to do sth 2)否定句:be not supposed to do sth 相当于 shouldn’t do sth. 或 be not allow to do sth.意为“不应当做某事;不被允许做某事”。 3)疑问句: be supposed to do sth 的疑问句是将 be 动词的相应形式提到主语前面。 e.g. You are not supposed to play football in the classroom. 你不应该在教室里踢足球。 e.g. Are you supposed to sleep at nine? 你应该在9点睡觉吗? What are you supposed to do on weekend? 周末你应该做什么? Exercises Ask students to do some exercises that they have learned in the class. Homework Read and memorize the words in this lesson. And write a short passage about manners in Colombia and Switzerland in 80 words.
