Leading in

Teacher invites students to look at the picture in activity 6 on page 71 and predict the main idea of the passage.

Reading

1.Teacher asks students to read the passage in activity 6 on Page 71 for the first time and check their prediction. After reading the text， list out the difficulties mentioned in the text.

2.Teacher asks students to read the passage for the second time and answer the four questions.

3. Teacher invites some students to share their answers and check up answers.

4. Teacher guides students to analyze the structure and main points of the reading passage and provides some explanations when necessary.

Reading for writing

1.Teacher asks students to discuss in groups about the dangerous places they have to survive.

2. Teacher asks students to imagine they have to survive in a dangerous place and plan their story by answering the questions in activity 7.

3. Teacher guides students to learn useful expressions from the text and offers more useful expressions.

Writing

1. Teacher guides students to learn the criteria of assessment.

2.Teacher encourages students to write a survival story according to the contents filled in the blanks and the structure of the writing a survival story.

Presentation and peer-assessment

1.Teacher invites students to evaluate each other’s article according to the checklist.
